First of all to Me.......I am lucky enough to have 2 days off this week. Guess what days they are??? Yup, yesterday and today. So, no. I did not ask this question on "you taxpayers money time." Maybe you should be thankful that there are those of us there when you need someone. Unless you are a dispatcher, you have no idea what all of us go through on a daily basis. Now to some of the interesting ones I have had.

Just the other day, I had a lady call and ask the number for the operator. When I told her "0" (sure maybe with a hint of attitude), another operator asked me if it was from a certain address. I told her yes. Turns out she had called just a few minutes before for the same thing. THe lady then insisted on telling me that 0 didn't work and she needed a phone number. I then gave her the number to 411. Or there was the call when the caller wanted me to call her doctor to cancel an appointment for her. Oh I could go on all day. Will post more later

I had a guy who wanted to know if he could keep a horse on his property... he lived in an apartment... I had a guy call 911 because his dog wouldn't come back in the house.. and I had someone call 911 because trash day fell on a holiday and no one picked up his trash... Oh, I could go on forever!!! LOL

** And to "ME" Why do you assume we are answering or asking questions on our "tax payers" precious work time? Because, I worked all night..from 11pm to 7am so people like you have someone to call when they have too... and now I'm home answering these questions.. And just FYI, most of us work nights, weekends, and holidays so you can be safe all the time.. without breaks or lunches... You're welcome!!!

I can tell you about some of the freaky calls you people have sent me on.

We are dispatched to a full code, code three, fire and PD already on scene. As we pull up I have to jam on the brakes to avoid hitting a naked man running out of the house we are responding to. PD and fire come running out of the house after him yelling, "Grab him!". My partner yells, "What about the CODE?". They yell back, "That's him!"

And now the rest of the story.
PD rolled on a man-down call, arrived and found the naked man with a needle in his arm and called fire, medics arrive and hit him with NARCAN and the paddles, the patient wakes up, sees the police, the rest of the drugs (Cocaine, Meth and PHP) kick in now that the heroine is blocked and the guy took off running. Amazingly enough, he survived.

I can just imagine the stories. But remember when they sound screwed up over the phone you must pity the road officers that have to deal with the lunatics :D.

How sweet to be reminded of where our tax money goes, and who we're paying to guard us...
