My boyfriend and I, of almost 3 years have a four month old daughter. I would love to get married soon.. not just because we have a daughter, but beacause i feel like it will complete our family. He says he does want to marry me, just not right now. I am just getting fed up with waiting!! Am I just being impatient? What should I do??

NEVER marry a man that tells you he isn't ready. If he said it, take it to the bank and CASH IT!!! LOL, when the timing is right for both of you, the both of you will know (and it has to be the BOTH of you because you're not going to be married to yourself are you?)

Don't give up, but don't pressure (a sure fire way to plant seeds of resentment for your latter years).

WHY do you want to get married? You said you have a daughter (CONGRATULATIONS!!!!) Do you need a piece of paper to tell you that she is your child? No. So do you need a piece of paper to tell you that this is the man you will spend the rest of your life with? Marriage is about way more than a ceremony and party (thats a wedding). Marriage is about partnership, mutual goals, love, support, and respect. None of that can be quantified or qualified by a legal union. The mental, spiritual, and emotional union far outweigh it! And when its right, you'll know, and it will be ALL that you never knew you wanted or needed and MORE!!!! Because it is a mutually desired progression in life's journey!

Hope that this helps!
Good luck to the three of you!
Hug and Kiss your Baby lots!!! They grow up fast!!!

PS that paper (marriage license) doesn't make you a family. Loving each other and supporting each other does!

Patience is a virtue, miss.

Remember, marriage will just give you a piece of paper. It's the love and concern that counts. Don't lose your patience, who knows? When you get home, he might surprise you with a wedding ring.. Besides, he said he wanted to marry you, maybe he's saving money for your super wedding!! Wow! With choir, red and white roses, in the biggest church.. Isn't it sweet? Think positive miss..

3 years is considered quite a short time to know a guy and to even get married...so be more patient and wait...anyway why do u need to get married when you are still young?...What's the rush?? What's most important is that he is paying for your daughter's wellbeing and if he truly loves you...xD

if you wanted to get married then you should have talked to him about it first before deciding to have a baby, how is he ready for a baby but not marriage.....talk to him once more and if he's still not ready then i don't think he'll be ready anytime soon, you could possibly be wasting your time

Give him a date that you must get married by or it's over.
I think January 01,2008 should give him time to plan his part.
Good luck

Be patient. My brother dated his gf for 12 years before they got married.

let him marry you for all the right reasons, let him marry you if he feels like it too, for my own, i dont like to get married just because i said so, i want him to decide for it on its own, it would be sweeter.

He wanted to sleep with you. He obviously wanted a child because he used not protection to stop pregnancy. What's wrong with marriage? Too much of a committment? It's obvious he does not respect you enough to take responsibility for his actions.
