Why are all the translations of the Bible so different? Why would God allow man to revise his word?

Because God didn't write it...man did, and ever since then, he has been translating it over and over again to suit his specific needs and agendas, whether they be political or personal. And to the answerer a few posts above me, the translation does matter, and a great deal. Some languages have a word equivalency to another word, and some do not. Many years of improvisation have turned many parts of the bible into a mere shadow of what was originally written. Things get "lost in translation." The message isn't always the same, or even close.

First, did u know that the name "Lucifer" means "Light Bringer"; it was the name of YAHWEH THE CREATORS first wife. It was her job to teach the children of men the Laws of YAHWEH in the Garden of Eden. She did not like what YAHWEH had planned for mankind, so she taught man to sin (that is, to hate & Break YAHWEH'S LAWS) rather than to Keep His Laws (which is to LOVE HIM)!!! Anyway, the many different translations of the bible are the result of confusion amoung the differing christian religions. The true & holy names of our HEAVENLY FATHER YAHWEH & HIS SON YAHSHUA MESSIAH have been removed from the bible & replaced with the names of the gods worshipped in foreign lands. However, YAHWEH held back the hand of deceived men who thought to lead al; people from YAHWEH, & only allowed for a certain amount of the bible to be mis handled. Today, the problem lies more in the lies taught about the scriptures rather than mis translations, because if a person would just sit down & read the bible you'ld see that what it teached is a far cry from what our decieved preachers tell us. Bible prophesy teached us that there will be only one place in these last days where YAHWEH ha chosen to place HIS NAME 7 where HE HAS RAISED UP A WITNESS FOR THESE LAST DAYS, PASTOR YISRAYL HAWKINS!!! They are NOT Different, get your facts straight. No One Changes the word of GOD! There are translations and there are versions. Some of the versions are just put into lagugae tghat is more easily understood, the the "King James Verison" it's to Shakespearian. Check it out for yourself, go to http://e-sword.net and download e0sword and the dowload the different translations and version. Once you have done that, find any Bible verse and then click on Compare, you can then see the same verse in many translations and versions all side by side. Next time get your facts straight before you make a blundering, false. uneducated statement like this again. May God Bless you, and the baby Jesus shut your mouth and open your mind!

Well the reason their is so many translation is because people are trying to make the Bible make more sense than the regular King james Bible. Because the King James Bible was first written in the 1600's I believe . So of the bible that are good is the New King James Bible and that is great. Plus alot of the bible have reference in the bible to help you understand the bible better.

when we speak of “inspiration,” we are referring only to process by which the original documents were composed. after that, the doctrine of the preservation of the bible takes over. if God went to such great lengths to give us his word, surely he would also take steps to preserve that word unchanged. what we see in history is that God did exactly that.
as a general rule, the more literal translations, such as the kjv, nkjv, asb and nasb, have less “interpretative” work. the “freer” translations, such as the niv, nlt, and cev, by necessity do more “interpretation” of the text, but are generally more readable
are translations of the bible inspired and inerrant? the answer is no, they are not. God nowhere extends the promise of inspiration to translations of his word. while many of the translations available today are superb in quality, they are not inspired by God, and are not perfect. does this mean we cannot trust a translation? again, the answer is no. through careful study of scripture, with the holy spirit's guidance, we can properly understand, interpret, and apply scripture.

Have you ever tried to translate from one language to another?
Take the English phrase "Out of sight, out of mind" and translated into Russian then translated back to English. The return is "Invisible Lunatic".
Now do you what talk bible?

If you where inspired by the holy Ghost, you would know thats not so. God inspired the books of the Bible and his words are there for those who choose to read with understanding.
The word is made clear.

They are not that different. You say tomato. I say tomato. Modern translations closely match the most ancient manuscripts. A few words translate differently depending on time, geography and current meanings of words. that doesn't make them lies.

They are not essentially different. They may use different words, but the concept that those words express are the same thing.
God wants His word to be understood by everybody, and that requires that it be translated into a language that they can understand.
