did you know that EVANGELISM, "or telling people about Jesus" is a central core value in Christianity?

by telling us TO STOP "telling people about Jesus", "stop sharing the gospel.", or "stop voicing your christian views", you are actually telling us that we do not have the freedom of RIGHT to practice our religion.

consequently, if we do come tellingyou about Jesus, you can CHOOSE not to listen by telling us, "i do not want to listen." you can choose not to follow too. it is your right.

so if you have your right not to listen to me, and i have my right to practice my religion in this "free" world, why then are you stopping or ridiculing me for practicing my right?

please, intelligent answers.

S.,

conversion and teaching them about Jesus is interlinked.

you cannot seperate the both.

conversion success is not expected of the christian of course, but TELLING PEOPLE about JESUS is expected of EVERY CHRISTIAN.

do you evangelise? :)

yes God's child,

they are not at peace with themselves.

i agree.

they can simply just say, "i do not want to listen."

that is their right not practiced by themselves! and they blame us for practicing our religion freely!

It's not that you tell people about Jesus. It's that you add in YOU ARE GOING TO HELL if somebody does not listen to you.

As long as you're nice about it and don't ridicule the other person go ahead but they may get annoyed and do just the opposite and not follow Jesus. You need to show respect all the time and if people don't want to listen fine, but don't harass them and maybe they'll find Jesus through another path or if they choose not at all. It's everyone's freedom of choice.

I thought the core value was to love one another, love your neighbor, love your enemies.

Yes, go forth and evangelize. It's not a "value" so much as a mandate. But it also needs to be efective. Preaching to people who have already heard and rejected your message is pointless. You should have "shaken the dust off you feet" against them years ago.

Better yet, telling people they're all wrong and that you have all the answers is very unlikely to convince people to heed your message. They are more likely to evaluate your message based on its fruits. If you're all talk and no demonstration, what kind of witness is that? Francis of Assissi said it best: "Preach the gospel. If necessary, use words."

And you may need to be ready for some abuse for your efforts. Jesus also said, "Turn the other check."

Telling people about the Bible only if someone asked for....but you have people who literally barge into houses or even in work places to teach about christainity. I am sorry to say it is very very rarely you come across a really genuine character who goes about doing this..........people do this only to gain material and monetary benefits.I can list you a name of several such characters who have used evangelism to reach their personal selfish ends. Do you see any of these guys going about like Jesus did...in total humility. Never they live in luxury and keep preaching to be like Christ for others.

Ofcourse there are many who dedicate their lives...but today evangelism is a way to make money., live a luxurious life and a visa to any country of choice.

People convert their believes only for such gains and not because they believe in Christ. Today you can see the most corrupt people who live in the name of GOD....Maybe this is why people are not willing to join the band wagon and have to coerced????

As long as you're astonishing approximately it and don't ridicule the different man or woman circulate forward even in the event that they'll get annoyed and do exactly the opposite and now no longer adjust to Jesus. think ofyou've have been given to show comprehend in any respect circumstances and if persons do no longer want to pay interest astonishing, even if do no longer harass them and doubtless they'll detect Jesus by skill of one greater direction or in the event that they arrive to a determination upon by no skill. this is each guy or woman's freedom of selection.

Your right to practice your religion is fine until the point where it interferes with my right to not be harassed about it.

Freedom to practice your religion does not guarantee you freedom from ridicule while doing it, nor does it prevent someone from telling you to go away and leave them alone.

I know that evangelism is a part of your religion, I used to be a Christian myself. I'm very glad you asked it because I woudl like to show you that there is another way to think abou tit, that I hope you will consider.

This is the problem with it: think of a smoker who wants to smoke, ouside where it is legal, and standing in the same area is a person who hates the very smell of cigarette smoke and has just come outside for a breath of fresh air. She has the right to be outside. Both of them have the right to be there, breathing. The non-smoker's right to breathing clean air is being infringed up on by the smoker. The smoker's right to smoke is, in his mind, being infringed upon by the non-smoker's insistence that he stop smoking because she has the right to breath clean air. They BOTH can't have their wants and expectations met.

So whose rights should prevail? I would argue that the non-smoker's right should prevail because she was not changing the air. The smoker was adding something, smoke, to the way things would be without changes being added by either person.

The analogy clearly leads one to the conclusion that when 2 sets of seemingly clear "rights" come into conflict, one of them has to give way, and the one that should give way is the one who wants to change or add to a situation to meet his needs. You have the right, in your mind, to preach the gospel at me, even though I do not want to hear it, and I have the right to not be harrassed, not be contacted, not to have to tell you I am not interested, simply not to have to deal with it. Since you are the one atempting to add to a status quo situation, your "rights" must logically give way to mine.

I know you say, but my religion tells me I MUST DO IT! I MUST EVANGELIZE! What if my religion tells me it is OK to take a bull horn and scream at you to back off, every night at 3 a.m. for half an hour, with a trumpet and horns blowing in the backround, just because my religion tells me I must do so. Would that be OK? Of course not.

Do you see what I am saying? You have your rights, of course, but NOT to the extent that they interfere with mine.

I hope you will consider what I have said, with all due respect and sincerity.

God is the central core of Christianity.

Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. To reach God everyone must go throught Jesus.

Jesus asked his disciples to teach all nations, not to convert everyone.

But will you go away after we tell you we are not interested or will you get your bullhorn out and stand on the corner forcing anyone who come by to listen to your blather? Did you know mulitple posting of the same question and ranting are violations of yahoo guidelines.

Then answer me this? Why are you on a religious website, if you do not want to hear about God.

You are looking for something to believe in, for evidence because your spirit knows there is something more, but because you listen not to your spirit, but your flesh, you can not hear God.
