So you know, it kinda feels awkard to ask friends and relatives at times, and feels more comforting anyway to hire someone professional w/good references of course to watch our beloved pets while we go on a trip.
Have you hired a petsitter b4 for your peace of mind knowin' your beloved animal will be taken good care of, as well as your garden being watered daily, and someone bringing in your mail??
How much did they charge?

I hired a lady. Before when I moved to Vegas I knew no-one, so i sent her to a kennel. Came back and was not happy with her weight gain and it is just wrong. Then I looked around to see how much it woudl cost for someone to come and visit her per day. They generally charge $20.00+ per visit. I was lucky though and found a poster of a lady in our apartment complex at the time who woudl come and sit our cat for $5.00/day. She was amazing. She came 2 times a day cuz she loved her and worried about her so much. I gave her double of course-knowing that she was totally undercharging.. and for the super fab job she did. Our cat Ty looked so much better in her element than at a crummy 'ol kennel.
Hope you find one that you can trust with superb ref's. :)

I was hired as one when I was in high school. I also got the mail and paper. They didn't pay me much, (maybe 40 for the week and a vacation gift) but of course I wasn't a professional. But, I was trustworthy and we were neighbors, so they knew my family. So, maybe you could get one of you neighbor's children to do it, since you probably know and trust them already. I would not trust a stranger in my house.

No. We put them in the "daycare" at PetsMart.
