My boyfriend and I have been together for 6 months now and he is in the Navy. I spoke with my mom about our future askin what she thought about as far as me moving with him in 2 years to Florida. She was all for it, but when I told her that if we are still together by mid-2008 then we were goin to get a place together to experience how each other live before I move all the way to Florida with him, but she doesn't think that is a good idea. So am I wrong for wanting to have the experience or should I take my mom's advice?

Mom is the wisest woman on the planet, and no one, no one, will ever love you like she does.

I was married to a sailor. Believe me - trust your mother!!! Jack the lad likes his drink, drink, drink, it never starts like that - but 90% dont take long to get into the swing of it. The camaraderie of the service life is always put before that of the wife, girlfriend etc. The navy has to come first (that's naval law) over everything. My advice?? Think long and hard about it. It can be a very very lonely life.

You should take your mom's advice....just because you live together doesn't mean you know how it's going to be.....I know, I did it....it was the dumbest thing ever! Trust your mom, she loves you and only wants whats best for you.

a move like that is really serious, you hardly know the guy, my guess, listen to advice before it's to late.
