It's almost like a little pinch. Biting your tongue hurts a lot worse and the pain lasts longer when you bite it rather than getting it pierced. I don't know if you have your belly button pierced but I thought that the belly button was more painful. And yes it will close up it you take it out. For some it will close up right away, others it may take a while.

Don't listen to anybody else it hurts like hell!! I got mt tongue pierced in 1991 ( when it was real trendy) and I almost passed out. At one point I had just about everything you can get pierced, pierced. I still have my nipples and down there pierced and neither one nor anything else hurt as bad as my tongue. Also it ruins the enamel on your teeth. Listen to me I used to pierce in the late 90's...and yes if you leave it out for longer than about 1 month it will close up.

Well, I have to agree with the above poster. In my opinion, it was the worst piercing I had, to date. The pain was considerably more than a little stick, and the worst part was the swelling for me. And yes, the hole does grow back. I decided that particular piercing was not for me, and I had no problems with it healing up.

I would imagine it does, but why would you want to take out your tongue? My gosh, if you don't like your tongue just stop sticking it out at people. And no it won't grow back. You'll just be a tongueless, extra hole in the back of your mouth, extremely sorry, wishing you could grow your tongue back individual.
I once cut my nose off to spite my face and now look at me!.........Well, I guess you can't look at me, but you get the point. I've tried modern medicine, silly putty, spells out of the Harry Potter Book of Spells, heck, I've even tried miracle grow. Nothing has worked! Can't stop and smell the roses. Can't keep my glasses up. I can't rub noses with my girl. That....er.....is if I had a girl or anything. I mean look at me!! Well, again I guess you can't look at me, but LOOK AT ME!!!!!
Keep your tongue, go eat some ice cream and think to yourself, "Dang, this would sure taste like crap with a prosthetic tongue."................Well, I guess it wouldn't taste like anything, but you get the point.

as much as you want it to.
it's all mind over matter really. you just have to take yourself out of the pain. lol or in it if you like pain i guess.
yes the hole will grow back.

Mine just felt like a little pinch. It was the healing that hurt.
And it closed up in about 2 days.

its not all that bad after about a week once the swelling goes down and yes it will grow back if you take it out and leave it out.
