Jesus said "let the one who is free of sin cast the first stone". So if everyone is born a sinner why are so many Christians throwing stones at other people?

Tom I would stick to your own garden, seems you have plenty of work to do there before you worry about everyone else.

I am always struck by the fear that seems to arise when another way of worship is disussed. I have seen many Christians respond to this by saying they are trying to 'save' others, but is seems to me more like they are protecting their own rationalizations. This is most apparant when people answer a 'christian' question with a differing viewpoint, but answer respectfully - and they are rewarded with a handful of anonymous thumbs down.

Because they are hypocrites. If they indeed have removed the log out of their own eyes, then they should seek to RESTORE people to righteousness. SPEAK to the rock, do not STRIKE the rock...that was what God told Moses to do, but because Moses struck the rock, he could not enter into the promiseland.
Your use of the verse, though, is slightly incorrect. John 8 is the reference. There were 2 errors being done by the Pharisees to that woman: 1)By Torah, the MAN AND WOMAN BOTH were to be convicted(you cannot have 'adultery' without both parties, right?), and 2)There had to be 2 or 3 WITNESSES to the act. Both were not present, so Yahshua said GO AND SIN NO MORE.
The truth is in the Bible...both parts of it. Not in xianity, Judaism, Islam or all these 'leavened' religions.

"Go into all the world and spread the gospel" is now equated with "throwing rocks". I will never understand these self-serving generalizations. The same God also said to expose the works of darkness. Now just when do you suppose the ones performing their Lord's mandate can do this without being accused of "throwing rocks". Look, if you prefer a watered down version of the gospel and of its truth, I'm sure there are any of a number of modern "enlightened" churches who would be glad to have you among their ranks. Me? I'll go it alone.

In every facet of life, you'll notice that people are becoming more of what they are. Extremists are now fanatics in the worst sense. And, we all know that ignorance breeds contempt. Hence, the rock throwing.

OH! sorry.. did I hit you with a rock? I was just cleaning them out of my garden so it would grow better...
Most Christians are told to spread the gospel and to warn the world to repent or die.. sometimes we forget that not everyone wants to be warned of approaching danger.
