Why do people on here answer questions that they have no idea what the true answer really is? Are they not defeating the purpose of this Yahoo Answers? I think too many people are using this as a chat room. Hey everyone...Yahoo does have chat rooms. Try those for chatting.

I do not do it.
But people do it just to get 2 points. I know a member accumulated nearly 230,000 points just by giving one line unconnected answers and within top 10 in ladder board.-

I don't know why.. oh.. wait.. was I supposed to answer this one?...
I guess that I answer even when I don't know the real answer because I think it is better to receive SOME type of response than to ask a question and get NO responses at all...
And sometimes I just misinterpret the question (like when it is late at night) and answer the wrong question...

In my humble opinion I think you have quite a few young people on here who have good intentions, know how to type, but have not really the experience. I also think there is the idea that this is a place for people to try to help, so people throw out what they know. Think about how much useless advice people have given you in your life. The nice thing about this place on line is some people do have good answers and it is nice to have someone who isn't biased or connected to the situation to throw out "some food for thought"

Sometimes the questions on here are asking opinion , and even if the truth is let out then, it is not always believed.
And points may be a motivation and just free speech and voicing opinions may be another one

That went over like a lead balloon, but... I don't feel like I see that many answers that don't answer the question. Even if the answer is "THERE'S NO SUCH THING AS GOD, YOU MORON!", it still answered the question. Wasn't a particularly good answer, but an answer none the less.

I guess they think that if they answer a bunch of questions then they'll by default atleast answer something half correct. Then again that point and level system makes them think they are intellegent.In General I guess just most people are just well
