I was wondering if it is ok to ride with two different sized tires on my bike. I have a 26 X 2.1 it the front and a 26 X 1.95 in the back. Is this a bad thing, or is it ok?

There's nothing wrong in using two different width of tires; actually both have the same (circumference) size, the only matter that differ is the width. I had experienced using two different width of tires before and it was on an easy rider bicycle where the front tire had 20 x 1.75 whereas the rear had 20 x 2.25; to which some said was a good & cheap imitation of a motorcycle. My suggestion for you is to use the one that has the lesser width (26 x 1.95) at the front and then the 26 x 2.1 at the rear. Thinner width for slicing at the wind while the thicker width for power acceleration. Hope this helps and good luck.

It won;t harm anything if that's what you mean. As longas the bike has enough clearence for the wider tire it's ok. In fact most BMX riders do put a much wider tire on the front.

Actually, I think it is very good. I run 2.35 in front and 2.1 in back and I like that combo. The narrower rear tire makes pedaling easier, and the wider in front better direction and more stable.

If the rim is about 22.5 inches outside to outside of the rim you want a 26" tire. You have to measure the clearance for the tire but you should be able to fit a 2.25 inch wide tire on it.

It should be fine (i.e. safe) on streets and easy dirt trails. If you are going off road and doing technical riding you may notice deficiencies and/or advantages to this combination. If it bothers you, then switch one out.
