Yes, we (people) are just animals and have innate desires. On the other hand, we also have the ability to make decisions. I think the inability to resist impulses is a maturity issue.

( Open Marriages Are One Route... *Both Ways*. ... And frequently where there's a cheating hubs, there's another cheating wife... Not all hubs are going with single women. )
We *ARE* Animals, of course... No More, No Less...
Kingdom: Animalia
Phylum: Chordata
Class: Mammalia
Order: Primates
Family: Hominidae
Genus: H*m*
Species: H. sapiens
Subspecies: H. sapiens sapiens
See? ANIMALS, Vertebrates, Mammals, Primates, Great Apes. I can't make it any clearer than that.
[Edit]: Men and Women Are The SAME In This Regard... However, both evolved - No 'God' was there to 'create.'

We have all gone away from our mind and even natural feelings and are led by the body. When the mind is in charge then it leads the body. Proper use of the mind uses intuition and I read that women have ten percent more connection with the rest of the mind, the right hemisphere. It's said that gives them thirty percent more intuition, and if you ask me, sometimes they are at least thirty percent more human. Men that like men are often do because other men are more interested in sex. While women who like women are interested in the tenderness as many men are. The right brain has our humanity, creativity, refinement, sensitivity, pictures and images, and turns on positive chemicals like endorphines and obeys the left brain. When things get out of wack and you deny that half of the brain for any and many reasons, programming for one, you get out of wack. Men have denied all those qualities as feminine and don't realize that they are atracted to women because they need those qualitities and should use women as a model for them. Women like men for their logic, physical, strength and the like. Obviously those are stereotypes and vary considerably by the individual and can be altered considerably if not at least almost completely. I suppose we will always have appreciation for each other or are getting there more and more. When one gets enlightened, from many things like knowledge, spirituality, experience, connection with, let's call it their intuition and feelings, they spot each other across a room instead of another animal. Of course they probably attract the whole room also. Some people misuse this charisma and are to die for by women who are not that charismatic themselves. It has less to do with lip injections and starving. That's only the best I can explain my viewpoint It must be little different for as many people as there, as we all put and see things differently. Substitute your favorite words to make that make sense to you from your perspective.

I don't claim to nor will ever say that I know what God's intentions are. I can only guess and believe. Here are my thoughts: All humans have a drive for sex. In fact, it is so strong that it can literally take over people and drive humans to be a great assortment of things, depending on what times in a lifetime an individual decides to act on that sexual impulse.
Undoubtedly, the drive for sexual expression pushes humans to act with incredible intention. Sex, and the idea of its satisfaction, has, through our culture, been labeled a taboo subject; and the amount of "forbiddenness" we assign to it has probably added to the mystique, and therefore, exploration of its physical expression.
In reference to your question - the idea of impregnating as many women as possible is a more basic, primal, animalistic approach to relations. True, a number of animal species submit to this philosophy. But it is also true their brains function on a lower frequency of thought. Their only guidance system is their instincts - and at best, a rudimentary understanding of cause and effect. If you join this animalistic philosophy, people will see you as such.
The desire for sexual expression is inborn and natural. This desire cannot, and should not be submerged or eliminated. But it should be given an outlet which enrich the body, mind and spirit of man. It may be controlled for a time, but eventually, it will find an outlet. Sexual expression may be submerged temporarily, but its very nature causes it to seek means of expression. Thing is, it’s really difficult to find a higher, more admirable sense of “sexiness”. We often associate sex with the physical. Anybody can be physically sexy, or look hot. Look around you – on average, people are looking better than of eras passed. Yet the sexiest people alive aren’t flagrant with their sexuality, they seem to have it under control. The George Clooneys, Halle Berrys and Russel Crowes of our society have that ever-present, non over-bearing sexuality about them - which is one reason I interest myself with the European, particularly the French philosophy of life. It’s there, it’s obvious, it’s so strong, but it’s so under control.

Man was created ' in God's image'
Man has been given qualities that animals do not have.
The ability of speech and the awareness of a future.
(Ecclesiastes 9:5-6) For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all, neither do they anymore have wages, because the remembrance of them has been forgotten. 6Â Also, their love and their hate and their jealousy have already perished, and they have no portion anymore to time indefinite in anything that has to be done under the sun.
Animals are NEVER aware that they will die.

Sure, we are animals. Some animals are monogamous, some are driven to spread their seed. Some animals think about their propagation, some just act (or react). If you are one of the animals that mindlessly spread their seed then I wonder what else you do without thought. Drive cars? Fight wars? Teach your offspring the difference between right and wrong?
Myself, I have the ability to think and reason. I can see that my actions have repercussions. I act accordingly.

Yeah, it's probably true down at the base, instinctual level, but men are animals that may still have basic, caveman instincts but most of them also know how to control their procreating urges to conform with the societal norm and to avoid getting smacked in the head with a fry pan while asleep! LOL

Men just like to use that excuse to make them sound less like pigs....There ARE men who do not want to cheat...And if it was just a case of wanting to have as many kids as possible, then they can just keep knocking up the same woman...Do not listen to the bs you are being told...leave you husband and find one who will cherish you for the great woman you are

Men are biologically driven to spread their seed as much as possible, just as women are biologically driven to nest and care for the young.
This is not an excuse to act like a chauvinistic pig though, and anyone who attempts to use it as such deserves no respect of any sort. That would be like saying "We have the instinct to eat meat, therefore we are justified in killing everything we see."
