I don't understand that thinking, either. If a rape occurs, the only person who "let" it happen is the RAPIST. If there is a God, (and who are you or I to say there isn't? We can't possibly know 100% that there isn't a God.) then he isn't responsible for some low-life slime that occupies the earth. After all, didn't the bible say something about "free will"? That means the rapist had a CHOICE and he made the WRONG one. Someone else, innocent as they may be, paid for that horrible choice. But it's not God's fault. It's the rapist's fault.

All that and I am really not religious. But I do believe that there must be a god. Who? I am unsure.

I am a Christian who understands exactly where you are coming from. I was raped at a young age, and I have never gotten over it. I pray over it, and well meaning Christians tell me the usual, but the fact is, they do not understand, and it is hard to take them seriously. Christians often sound as if they are dismissing people's pain and suffering when they try to change the subject to God's plan, I don't think they mean to, but when you are hurting it is the last thing you want to hear. It sounds good to them because they have accepted God's word as their law, but I can see how it somehow comes across as being insensitive. I think sometimes we, that means Christians and Non Christians are so quick to give our answer that we forget to listen. I will never forget the answer an well meaning Christian gave me when my mother died, I was pouring my heart out to her about losing my best friend, and she cut me off saying "well, she is in a better place now." Than she just walked away, satisfied. I now she is in better place, but that is not what I wanted to hear from her. Just listen before offering advice.

God doesn't make some one rape some one else. That is the choice of a sick minded person. Sin was brought on by man not by God. I know some of you don't see it that way or you would believe, But I believe that God can turn around a hardship so that the person can find peace and get on with their life. I know that it would be hard but through God all things are possible.

No.

I look at that and say how disgusting can men be. People do not understand the concept. We as humans rejected God in the very beginning, and now we are paying the price for it. We keep driving ourselves deeper and deeper into the hole and soon, if not already, there isn't going to be a way out.

First of all I realize what I am answering this up against. Let me first say this- The world will bring you down- but it will not destroy you - it will not destroy you due to the grace of God. So while you look at something like rape and curse God, I look at something like rape and curse the Godless people who did that. Understand that God does not control you- you control you & he gives you the choice to believe him or not. If everyone in the world believed in God and followed his commandments then rape would no longer exist. I am not saying that all who don't believe are bad people, but it is obvious that bad people do not believe.

Don't know there answer.
God does not do evil, God is Love..God will take a bad thing and bring good out of it. Like once you are built up in Him you can help others who have the same question. And whoever did the bad will be dealt with by God....

The reason people turn their back on God is they are taught that He manevers all things;the bible says these evil things that men do are contrary to all that God stands for.Truth is that He created man with free will so that we worship from the heart, not from compulsion.(ex: Can you MAKE someone love you? Isn't it better when they come, of their own free will, to love you?) BUT Satan chose NOT to worship God, & it's his purpose to mislead and corrupt as many as possible-getting the "last" laugh on God, when he sees how depraved people can become. It pains our Creator, to see how dispicable life on earth has become. We were given a beautiful earth, universe as a gift-and created in God's image, proven by the love shared around the earth (ex: during catrostrophies)God is love, & will end all this suffering soon. Rev 21:3,4-a PROMISE of no more tears......

Let me change your quote just by one word, and it changes the meaning SO much-
God uses everything for a reason- for His glory and good. With your statement it looks like you are saying God raped the woman. WRONG- A rape is horrible , yes, but somewhere down the road He can use it for good. The rape itself is not good, and God does not do that, a person did.

God didn't cause, or make, the event (to) occur, God merely "allowed" the event. Why God "allows" certain things (any thing) to occur is God's will, which is allegedly, not to be questioned.

Many don't like this answer, for any number of reasons. It doesn't mean God is uncaring, etc. It merely means that the "master plan" is God's and how people choose to deal with it is part of that plan.

First of all, God didn't do it. Ungodly men rape, etc. Men who have rejected God/Jesus in their lives and live in their old sin natures commit these horrible crimes. When you accept Jesus, God's provision for your life, and live by your Faith, then you are made a new creation by God with a desire to honor Him with the life He gave you ----and this does not include rape, etc. God calls to all of us, but unfortunately, some people are deaf to His calling and blinded by the gods of this world that keep us from The Lord. We all have free will and make choices. We die how we live. Jesus looks at our hearts, then judges. There is NO appeal and the judgment is final and eternal! God bless
