No, to open borders.
I'm hispanic and my parents came here in the 60's and overstayed their visas. Back then laws were different and things were different. I consider myself very lucky to have been born here. I have gotten a glimpse of other cultures and there is really nothing like the American culture....I love it. As far as what's going on now, people seem to forget that immigration is a privilege and not a right. You are not entitled to live in this great country just because. You either have to be born here or apply to become a permanent resident and abide all the laws. I don't like the fact that many people come here to milk the system, it's just not fair for the ones that are born here or the many immigrants that work hard, pay taxes and remain law abiding citizens. The end is near. ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) is looking to "remove" about 600,000 permanent residents who have been convicted of aggravated felonies. Additionally, ICE is "removing" illegal aliens by the hundreds. The government has just increased the budget for ICE so they can do a better job of going after the felons and illegal aliens.

We have in our world people who are a threat.
Do you have an apartment or home, with doors and windows that you close and lock, or do you leave them wide open so that any stranger can come into your home? Most of us have concerns for our safety and well being, the security of our personal possessions, so we lock our homes when we are not actually going through the doorway.
Apply that to the nation as a whole. Should our borders be open to people who want to destroy us? Are you a pacifist who believes that it is wrong to oppose bad people like Hitler, that no war was ever justified? That is a minority view point, although there is great debate over what wars are justified.
Can the economy of the nation sustain supporting all the downtrodden people from around the world who need a job and think they can get it here? I don't think so. But we do have civic duty to help the downtrodden around the world. Perhaps we can do things to help their economies and their middle class and other areas so that their homelands can be improved so there no longer is the hunger to come here and burden our economy, plus less reason for wars.

NO because i am not stupid and i don't think Mexicans or any other race has the right to come here and take over our nation,i don't care who you are!someone else had a great idea that would solve a lot of problems around the USA.first all illegal immigrants and their kids should be deported back to wherever they came from- to offset the expenses all properties, money etc. that they acquired while living illegally here will be seized and confiscated and not returned to them.for coming here illegally and breaking our laws they will not be allowed to visit or live here ever again! forget the fences dig a moat all along the entire Mexican border and USA and take the dirt and build up the levies of New Orleans and then go to Florida and take all the gators that are roaming around and put in the moat and they can patrol our new border! its a win -win situation for America and our legal citizens!

By African Americans you mean Dark skinned people from African decent? I'm sure if they were born in AMERICA they are AMERICANS. If born in Africa they are Africans.
If it was open borders that would ruin millions of hard working Americans lives. How can an American who has been working for 20 years making 24$ an hour at a plant compete with a Mexican that will do it for 12. Millions of people and their families would lose everything. There are legal ways of getting into the country. I think if you are in America you should speak English. I hate going to eat or fill up on gas and hearing only Spanish.

We should have open borders *only* for legal immigrants! Every person who comes into the United States of America is a criminal, whether or not he or she has violated any *other* law! By the same token, we should make it a little speedier process for legal immigrants to become citizens, if the want! But the citizenship test, driver's license exams, etc. should *only* be administered in the English language!

i think it's ludicrous for anyone to think that open borders is OK. for one thing America has to maintain the amount and the type of person that comes into this country. everyone else checks there borders. I've traveled around the world and i had to ask permission to visit countries. that's the reason for passports.

With Canada, I believe this 100%. Give me one good reason why not. Most of the problems with criminals crossing that border are those of those going to Canada to try to escape the death penalty.

I wonder why you chose African Americans?
I however do not think our borders should be opened. And I don't really know how they would feel if their land was flooded with Caucasians invading their land (again). Read your history and stop being a bigot.

NO, unless you want the USA to become a 3rd world country. Nothing good could come from this for us, have you not seen the heavy toll it has taken, already, on all our hospitals, schools, welfare, etc. If this is not stopped we are doomed.

No. Mexico needs to set up their own free meal ticket programs for their citizens. Mexico needs to pay the expenses back to U.S agencies for tracking illegals down, and deporting them. Or money out their pocket to come and remove them. Bring them back home to MEXICO.
