it fairly is obvious maximum atheists recognize greater of the Bible than the Christians (so stated as) that don't recognize what the Bible says and deny what it says while they study it. they're going to say to in basic terms have faith and pray the sinner's prayer and you'd be saved. The Bible says in any different case. there's no such element contained in the Bible as a sinner's prayer through fact it says all of us recognize that God does not hear sinners. Paradox, do not you think of? the difficulty I unquestionably have with atheists is they don't rightly divide the scripture and take a inspect to bind the old testomony on Christians. not so in accordance to Colossians 2: the place we are advised the old regulation replaced into executed with the laying off of blood on the go. consequently, the old regulation ceased while it replaced into filled finished. Romans and different books say the this, too. maximum atheists take Leviticus and take a inspect to bind it right now, or different books of the old regulation. the hot testomony for the church starts with the 1st Christian sermon in Acts financial disaster 2. Jesus lived and died a Jew. He replaced right into a Jewish rabbi having everyday the regulation thoroughly. Few Christians recognize the place the old ends and the hot starts through incorrect addition of the web site that asserts "New testomony". you're a pupil, I observe, so which you recognize it fairly is authentic while you're taking time to benefit it in context. RE: "Even on my servants, the two men and females," do you propose the single in Acts 2: or in Joel 2: the place it replaced into first taken? i'm not a pastor and that i don't think a pastor until eventually i'm able to work out it with my very own eyes and intensely own recognize-how. you would be a puppet, yet as a Christian i'm not. through fact the Bereans have been, i'm, in that I seek the scriptures every day to work out if the failings i'm taught are suitable in accordance to the Bible. a minimum of ninety% who declare to have faith the Bible, do not additionally recognize the old regulation from the regulation of grace we've under Jesus.

Many non believers were raised in christian homes and had tons of exposure to Sunday School, Church, Bible Study, Bible School, and Good News Club. Every kid I know had a Bible and was taught to memorize from it. By the time I was 14, our church had read through it about 6 times so I had comprehensive coverage of the bible from those places and in my own home. I have read the books left out of the Bible, translations that have been done recently from the scrolls, and read academic writings on the Bible. I think some Atheists have a better Bible background than the sheep who sit around and believe what their preacher tells them!

Not all Christians assume this. Some atheist have read the Bible and for reasons know only to them they choose not to believe, which is their right. But other atheist prove they have at least looked at a few Scriptures because they bring them out just to try to make fun of them.

I know this doesn't really answer the question, but many Atheists I know are Atheists because they read the Bible. In other words, the read the Bible and for some reason converted to Atheism.

I am a Christian and have never assumed athiests have never read the Bible.
As a matter of fact I would think they did read the Bible. How else would the athiest know whether they believed it or not?

Because most of them have not and figure athiests are the same.

Due simply to the fact that most people who call themselves Christians actually have a religion based on catchphrases and half remembered old movie clips, it's most likely that a higher percentage of athiests have read the Bible than those that are telling them to read it.

Yeah. Definitely a problem with some Christians. I know it doesn't make sense. They shouldn't do stuff like that but they don't know any better.

When I was an atheist and read parts of the Bible, it was obvious to me that it was just bunk. There were blatant contradictions and ridiculous statements. It was utter foolishness.

However, that's when I was an atheist. Once I believed in God and Christ, I couldn't find any contradictions or ridiculous statements. You are thinking right now, "That's because they brain washed you into believing that BS." But you're wrong. That wasn't it. When you believe, God gives you understanding that you didn't have before. He himself tells us that The Word is foolishness for those who don't believe. That's absolutely true. That's one of the reasons that I am so sure Jesus is true God because I've seen that effect.

Zero Cool nailed it on the head. It's obvious, at least to some of them, that if atheists had read the bible, they'd be Christians now because it's done so much in their life.

It's been my experience that agnostics and atheists know the Bible better than most Christians. In fact, that's a large part of WHY they're agnostics and atheists ... they've actually read it, and they see the scientific impossibilities, the inconsistencies, the bloody brutality, the inhumane punishments ... and they just walk away from it, wondering how anyone could believe this stuff, or why they'd even want to.

You will find that atheists are more likely to have actually read the entire bible.

Its not easy to deliberately disbelieve something that over 80% of this country believes. Many atheists have sincerely read the bible, trying to reconcile it. As a last resort we gave up on it.
