I've had mine since March, it got infected a few weeks later and I got taken to the doctor who prescribed antibiotics. The infection cleared and it was all well and everything up until now- its infected again. I've tried leaving it alone and I've been using this Detol Disinfectant stuff but that hasn't helped much.
What kinds of things can I do to help the infection heal as quickly as possible? I was told a sea salt solution would be very helpful. Any advice on this? Just out of curiosity, would it be better if I use more salt and less water in the solution?
Any other creams or things alike I could use? Also, if you happen to recomend anything would you be able to tell me where to find it in Australia, thanks.

First off ignore the person who said buy H2Ocean as it contains chicken lysozyme which can cause severe irritation and allergic reactions in some people...additionally the Ph level's in H2Ocean are high enough to cause irrepairable cellular damage to human tissue, mainly in fresh piercings.

However, do NOT take the ring out if it is truely infected. This will trap infection in the piercing which can spread and become very severe.

Mix 1/4 teaspoon of natural sea salt (not table salt) with 1 cup of water that you have boiled and allowed to cool to a comfortable temperature, or bottled water that you have warmed. Make sure that you mix this in a clean glass/cup and dispose of the solution each time you are finished with it and make a new batch. Place the cup over your belly button while standing bent over, press it down to form a seal and lay down somewhere. Allow it to soak for 15 minutes 3 times per day. This should draw out any infection in little "strings". Do this for a week, if you are not showing any signs of it clearning up, return to your doctor.

My suggestion would be after getting it cleared up this time to abandon the piercing as it doesn't seem to be working for you for whatever reasons.

Also, do NOT use rubbing alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, triple antibiotics, betadine or anything else of the like on the piercing. These can cause excess irriation and prolong the healing period.

i does not take the piercing out on your guy or woman. shop using the sea salt, my naval piercing took a 365 days and a 0.5 to heal. It regarded undesirable for the 1st few weeks and saved getting that way each so oftentimes. try getting H2Ocean, use that approximately 4-6 situations an afternoon between soaks. I stay with the aid of that stuff for my piercings. stable success with it.

Make a solution of one part baking soda and two parts warm water, then I know this sounds silly but press the cup against your stomach and tilt back to let the solution be around your piercing. Do this two times a day for about 3 to 5 minutes each time. Hope this helps.

well, i have mine done and have also had troubles. You should use the sea salt solution. Equal parts sea salt to equal parts water..i.e.1tbs sea salt to 1 cup water. It is the beat solution to your problem. DO NOT use more salt as it will irratate it even more. Just soak it for 5 mins and then rinse it thoroughly with dial antibacterial soap....good luck!....Cassie ♥

Yes, sea salt solution cleans open wounds/infections a lot. I would recommend getting H2Ocean, a sea salt disinfectant specialized for pericings/tattoos. It works really well to prevent infections.

Get back to the doctor for a stronger antibiotic. If your belly button jewellery is not 14 karat gold I suggest you get it replaced with some. You could have a sensitivity to the metal used.
