No it is not. Iam a Catholic Christian American and I dont believe in the rapture. It is a false doctrine. All who endure til the end will be saved. Jesus will only return once, not 2 or 3 times as rapture believers believe

Actually, a lot of Rapture theology came from the UK with John Darby. Read about the visions of 15-year-old Margaret Macdonald, also not American, who influenced Darby:

But an American named Cyrus Scofield and his "Scofield Bible" did have a lot to do with helping to promote belief in the Rapture.

For the first time I agree with a Catholic on theology. No secret rapture. Every eye will see him. He that endures till the end shall be saved.
"As it was in the days of NOAH so shall it be at the coming of the Son of man"
Q. How was it in Noah's Day.
A."till the flood came and took them all away"
Q. Where did they go?
A. to their destruction.
Those that are taken are destroyed by the brightness of His coming.
Those who are left "behind" are the saved.
