I really want to lose weight, but I'm afraid to tell my parents because they always assume I have an eating disorder. I've got a BMI of around 19.4 but I want it to be lower than that. Whenever I leave a meal unfinished, they make me finish it. I try to go to the gym every day, but they get worried again. How can I lose weight without them knowing? (without bulemia)

Honor your parents. I'm sure you have nothing to worry about with your weight.

Since you sound to be at a good weight now ( you have to agree it is fine, your saying you just want a little less?)

I would try avoiding eating less. Make sure you don't skip meals because you will bring down your metabolism. You don't need to diet, you just want to maintain weight.

Try putting your energy into building more muscle while you are at the gym. This will increase your metabolism and your body will look great.
Also if you think your "weight" is too high, if you work out like you say it is probably because you have so much muscle, which will weigh more than fat.

Hmm. If you play any sports, tell them you go to the gym bc have to tone up for that. The eating thing, eat half your meal and tell them ur going to save the rest for later. That your just not hungry. If they still dont believe you, try feeding it to the dog. J/K. LoL.. Make your own plate at dinner or whatever.. and just put a little less on it than what they would. Lay off the snack foods. Chips, candy, etc.. And cutting pop/soda out of your diet does make a big difference.

tell your parents that your going to your friend's house or going to a library to study then go to the gym. And if your on diet, don't starve yourself. Starving won't do anything. Eat vegetables, fruits, and avoid eating oily foods and meats, such as pork, sausage, eggs, pizza, chicken, just a foods that won't help you. It's okay to eat those kind of food once in a while or whatnot because your body needs fat to survive. Don't drink while your eating it's bad for you, drink after your meal. Go for a walk/jog after your meal also. If your lazy to do exercise, joining sports, clubs, whatever will keep you from getting lazy because you'll have someone to boss you around. Trust me I've been there.

Your in the normal range for bmi any lower and you would be in the under weight category. I could see if you want to tone up but not to lose weight. You can look at little things like how much pop/soda you drink a day. How much water you drink, how many fruits and vegetables you eat. And controlling your portion sizes, not eating like nothing but a full plate.

You don't need to lose weight darling.. just firm up those muscles.. you will notice your waist line diminishing as you do.
Cut back you r gym to 3 or 4 times a week... but put some plates on the bar for those squats and lunges etc.... rest between gym days so you can build muscle. Trust me.. you don't have the testosterone to get tank.... but you will get heavier (cause muscle is heavy) but slimmer (cause the energy you consume will be used to sustain your muscle mass .. chewing away at any body fat) ... understand? Then you will be happy cause you will lookk truly sexy.. and your parents will be happy cause you will be eating like a horse, going to gym less often and apparently "putting on weight"... lol.

You might not agree with me but even if u say u dont have a eating disorder i do think your weight says a different story.Going by your weight everyone will think either you have a eating disorder or not and also by looking at you.So leaving that aside instead of this struggle why dont you fix your own meals or substitute eating fruits veggies juices or something else which will help you get your ideal weight.good luck.

Talk to them about it. Did you have an eating disorder in the past and they're worried about it coming back? Just sit down w/ them and tell them what you want to do, and let them speak their bit, and come up with a solution. Going to them in a manner showing respect for their feelings could give you an upper hand in the situation, instead of trying to sneak around.

Take your folks to the doctor and discuss it there. That way you'll all get a professional opinion, and everyone can come up with a compromise that is healthy for you, and safe enough to satisfy your parents. You can get a lot more past your parents using a logical defense with an authority on the subject than you can from sneaking around and possibly doing something that is not good for you.

Thats already a very low BMI. Don't be one of those boney girls that lives on nothing but fat free yogurt and diet soda. Guys like women that they can hug without getting jabbed with their bones. Eat your food, listen to your parents. You're already plenty skinny enough.

Doesn't sound like you really need a diet. Try just eating healthy and exercise. A good long-term healthy eating style is much more effective than a diet AND would probably satisfy your parents :)
