When I took off the wallpaper there was no paint and I could see black mold on the drywall.

It is likely that what you see is a stain from old mold, not an active growth. Some wallpaper paste will harbor mold growth if there were spores on the wall before papering.

Wash with 1 cup bleach in 1 gallon of water. It probably will not remove the stains, but should lighten and remove any mold on the surface.

If there is active mold growth, you have moisture coming from somewhere that will need to be dealt with. I would wash and keep an eye on it for a couple of weeks before covering with paint or new paper just to make sure there isn't a bigger problem.
