Maybe she does not have powerpoint downloaded onto her computer. If you would like to send her a powerpoint email you could ask her if she could purchase office 2000. If she could purchase it then you can start to send her all of the powerpoint presentations. I am hoping that this is helping you. Good luck.

It is not necessary for your friend to purchase Office/PowerPoint to view your files. All that is required is a PowerPoint viewer, which is a free download from MS. There is a version for 2007 and 2003.
As someone already commented, I would agree that if you're using 2007, it will be saved in a format that is not compatible with 2003. If this is the case, you can use Save As and change the file type to be compatible with 2003, or have your friend download the 2007 viewer. I've placed a link to the download in the source section.

Ryan

If she has powerpoint installed and still unable to open it, you guys might be using a different version of MS Office.
Since you are on Vista, I think you are using MS2007 while she maybe using 2003 or even 2000.
If that's the case there is a conversion tool at microsoft website. An error message should pop up when she tried to open the file and a click on the link should directly bring you to the file.
Good luck!

Maybe you're using the Office 2007. The format used by Office 2007 is .pptx for PowerPoint. The lower Office version use .ppt. To ensure that your friend can view it. Open the presentation, click Save As, then at the drop down at the bottom, choose Powerpoint 2003 format. This new file is the one you should send.

Your friend may not have Powerpoint so you have 2 options.
Save the powerpoint you are sending her as a .pps instead of a .ppt file. This is a prepackaged show which does not require Powerpoint pn a computer to play the presentation. It may be listed under File->Save As or as Pack and Go in one of the menu options of your powerpoint application.
Your friend can also download the free viewer from Microsoft at
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=428D5727-43AB-4F24-90B7-A94784AF71A4&displaylang=en
Once this is installed she should be able to view the Powerpoint you sent her.

"i'm using vista,she's using XP" - that's why.
Your version of PPT is probably 2007. MS has "improved" the PPT format which means of course that other applications (even earlier version of the same program!) can't understand it. If you can save the PPT in an earlier version format, do that.

make advantageous the documents you're sending are a .record document. a number of those documents are recognizable with the aid of the two working platforms. once you pass to shop your record, under the area the place you call your document, there's a document form drop down container. click that and decide .record and shop it.
