what does vegemite taste like? where does the flavour come from?

I'm from Australia and i know what it tastes like but i want to know what tastes like it and where the flavour comes from.

It tastes sort of like soy sauce and yeast. It's made from fermented vegetables and originated in Australia

NASTY if you ask me. It is a spread that the aussie put om bread. it smellls like a mixture of vitamins but i don't know wat it really is. The aussies eat it like peanut butter
