A friend of mine wants to do this for her mother. I don't really know what this is and I want to be able to help her. Can someone enlighten me?

The friends and family of an alcoholic confront the person and tell her how bad her alcoholism is and how it is hurting her and everyone else. This ends the denial of the alcoholic and hopefully makes her go to AA or get treatment. It is a good idea to have someone from AA there, too.

Ok see an intervention is something where a WHOLE bunch of people from all around to talk about the same problem.Like go seach around for them.They could be at a gym,park,social places,etc.

It means sitting down with an alcoholic and confronting them about their alcoholism, telling them that they need treatment, and usually providing ultimatums if they do not seek treatment.
