Stop brushing your hair after you come out of the shower. Hair is the most prone to stretching and breaking while it is wet.
Try this instead, apply conditioner & then gently comb out your hair with a wide tooth comb before your rinse out the conditioner. Run water through your hair gently - don't swirl it & twist it. Then gently gather sections to squeeze out the extra water.
Use a super absorbent microfiber towel to press your hair after you get out of the shower. Spray on a leave in conditioner & comb out your hair again w/ a wide tooth comb if necessary. Start at the bottom & work your way upwards to remove any tangles.
Only brush your hair while it is dry & use brushes w/ smooth tipped bristles that are widely spaced to avoid tearing your hair.

Dont go out and buy anything expensive.
First: Purchase a mild Shampoo (To Clarify hair, I will explain why)
Second: TRIM your hair ends (May 1 1/2 to 2 inches)
Third: Here's the magic part: Mix olive oil, almond oil, coconut oil, avocado oil and a "little" honey, (honey u will have to heat so it can blend). Either leave on ALL day or all night (if all nite, DONT use honey)
Repeat this 3-4 times a week, your hair will grow like a weed & remove all frizz I promise,..... and it will be super shiny!!!!
The clairifying shampoo will help take the oil off your hair when u shower
You can find olive oil anywere, but the other oils you will have to buy at a local organics store, wholes foods or BJ's health corner.

My hair's like that too, I've just kinda learned to live with it. If you put some stuff in it to make it really curly, the split ends don't show as bad.

Vitamins and protien in your diet. Your hair grows from the inside out, nourish it that way. Take a vitamin suppliment and also make sure you are eating enough proteins (fish, nuts, and soy are best with essential fatty acids that DON"T make you fat!)
All you can do from the outside is PROTECT your hair. Make sure to sheild your hair from extreme conditions of wind, heat, and chemical (pools). Putting your hair in a bun, or under a hat or a swim cap will drastically improve ANY hair.

Brushing your hair when it is wet is one of the worst things you can do to it and that will make split ends. When your hair is wet use a wide tooth comb on it.

Get shampoo for dry and brittle hair. When you get out of the shower, put gel in your hair and don't dry it, even if you have to take your showers at night.

my sister does the same thing, she took up knitting so that she would have something to do aside from picking at her split ends. Every time she went to do it,she would pick up her knitting needles. It seems to have worked for her.
GOOD LUCK

go to the hairstylist first
get all of your split ends cut off
next go buy hot oil treatments for you hair...they are these small thumb sized tubes of orange liquid.
