So many people have been brutally murdered in the name of "God", that it is hard to believe that any religion is right. I must have attended about seven different churches and always wanted to stand up and argue with the guy in the pulpit. Everyone thinks that their own religion is the "Right One" and argue, fight, insult, or even kill to try to get their point across, their point being their own reality. Reality is subject to perception, and every person perceives it differently, so reality is different from person to person. I know, very repetitive. I guess my question is, what makes anyone think that they know everything and are completely right in their own beliefs, and what makes them think others should die if they do not agree with them. (By the way, I was just joking about the adult baptisms being held under water until they stop kicking in my previous question. (Darkly funny image, though.)

you're suitable, abortion has not been labeled legally or scientifically as homicide. yet many folk look previous those 2 categories and function ethical standards, and those ethical standards let us know that a toddler is a toddler from the 2d of thought. enable's say i'm some weeks pregnant - interior the term that abortions would properly be achieved. What if i'm in a damaging motor vehicle twist of destiny through fact of a under the impression of alcohol driving force and my injuries reason me to miscarry? Did I lose a toddler? Or does or not it rather is counted on whether i replaced into chuffed with regard to the certainty that i replaced into pregnant or not?

You are confusing God with religion. Religion is a man made creation to control the masses, God is well..God and is above religion.
Funny , the recently discovered Gospel of Judas even says to kill or sin in "God's name" means that sinner is double damned to hell. So if you believe it people like the Crusaders are burning in hell..
And its funny that people point at muslims as being so radical..christianity is one of if not the bloodiest religions (besides those that involved human sacrifice) to have existed. People seem to forget the spanish inquisition for example, where non believers were TORTURED in the name of the christian God.

Yeah, i think everyone realizes that someone is murdered "in the name of God" . .but if you're trying to blame God for people being killed. .well I'd think again. Man is corrupt and its man who murders - not God. Just bc some idiot kills someone bc they don't believe the same thing doesn't give you nor anyone the right to blame God for the killing.
Personally, i think that stereotyping is extremely naive and shallow. .and that's exactly what you are doing right now. I'm Christian and my best friend is Muslim. .we don't kill each other. Neither of us have ever murdered someone in the name of our God. You act as if all religious people go kill someone just bc they don't believe in the same things. We aren't all like that. .and the ones that act like that are shallow and have no respect for other humans. So i have a question for you - Does anyone else realize that the people who claim to kill someone else in the name of God are hypocritical, don't follow what they teach, and give every other religious person a bad name?

This is one of the major problems with religion, of course: everyone thinks his/hers is the ONLY right one. Many have been willing to kill for this belief, even if it goes against the basic beliefs of that religion. None of the major religions, to my knowledge, condones murder, yet people will kill in the name of their religion, and somehow this makes sense to them.

I agree completely. Religion causes so many problems, including many of the social issues in the United States. These issues, such as gay marriage and abortion, are nonissues and should not be on the frontline of the political agenda (mainly the conservative agenda). However, all religions are flawed.

counting all the martyrs, the war casualties and other killings and murders? It is nothing compared to the number of babies dead because of abortion.
Number of abortions per year: Approximately 46 Million
Number of abortions per day: Approximately 126,000
That is 5250 babies per hour. This is not even counting abortions that are from unregistered abortionists. Which could triple this number.
The reasons are not from God or any form of religion. But to man. Through his sinfulness.

Whatever works for you.... however yes we all realize many people have been murdered in the name of God, however, we must also realize that many believers have been killed by non-believers in the past century. Neither Theists nor "Freethinkers" can claim their past is not flooded in blood.
To the person who posted ahead of me, statistics do not agree with you, and I will take numbers over bias any day

Think of how many were murdered without the name of God being even mentioned.
WWI, WWI, Civil War, etc. ALOT more than religious wars.
