Are we as Mormons considered Christians?

We don't believe that Jesus is the only son of God and the physical presence in the Trinity. We don't believe that God the Father is the mind and watchful eye and the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God. This was taught by St. Patrick. We as Mormons don't acknowledge Christian doctrine as taught by St. Patrick.

Am I wrong or is that what makes us Mormony?

3 Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.
4 Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.
5 And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.
6 And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.
7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.

Well Jews, as a religion don't believe that Jesus Christ was the divine Son of God. Jews believe he was simply a man, a prophet, a great teacher. Mormons on the other hand certainly believe Jesus is God and that the New Testament Jesus was the Messiah who came to save mankind. In this Traditional Christianity and LDS Christianity are congruent. It is this concept that qualifies a person to be called Christian, Jews do not even want to be considered Christian. They believe He hasn't come the first time yet. So Mormons are Christain in their belief of Jesus Christ as the Divine Son of God. Christians are not Jews because Jews don't rely opon Christ for Salvation. Kind of a simple concept really.

Take a better look at John 17 and John 1:1-18, and Genesis 1:1. Read the Greek...it wasn't St. Patrick...it was Jesus Himself, AND God the Father.

Here is a website for you that answers this question, at least from the point of a Mormon.

We do believe that Christ is God's Son. He is our savior. It is through Him that we can return to live with our Father in Heaven (God). No, we don't believe in the Trinity. It is only AFTER the trinity was put into doctrinal effect that that narrow description of what a Christian is came into being. Until then, anyone who believed in Christ was considered Christian.

Mormons are not Christians. Sorry. Christians believe that God only had ONE son that can save us from hell, and thats Jesus. Us Christians believe that EVERYTHING in the Bible is Gods word and is truth. We believe that the trinity, Father(God)-Son(Jesus)-Holy Spirit, are all one being. Lots of people think that because Mormons believe that Jesus was a real ma and a son of God that they are Christians, but they are not.

In order to answer the question one must have a definition of what a Christian is.

"A Christian is a person who adheres to Christianity, a monotheistic religion centered on the life and teachings of Jesus of Nazareth as presented in the New Testament. Christians believe Jesus to be the Son of God and the Messiah prophesied in the Old Testament." (wikipedia)

To my knowledge Mormons do this.... thus they ARE Christian

Mormons believe in the Bible. They just believe that the Christ came to their founder during the 3 days Jesus was down. What is your problem? Why do you guys have to make things up about other religions? Do you not feel secure in your own?
Stop giving false witness.

Blessed Be

As you probably already know, smarty pants, the Trinity was a political maneuver used to consolidate ecclesiastical power and cut off dissenters, not any great doctrinal victory. Not until those dark, confused days, long after the messengers of God were gone, did it become a heresy to believe in a real God, a real Son of God, and a real Holy Spirit, instead of some three-headed monster.

A Christian who rabidly defends the Trinity is speaking about Someone he has never met and has no real knowledge of, and he is siding with tradition only for the sake of tradition. Let him begin to understand his Bible. Let him begin to really know the Jesus he says he has accepted. Let him stop giving loyalty to a creed that tells him he can have no comprehension of the God he calls Father.

Start with these few scriptures...

Only if you believe Jesus Christ is the son of the one and only Father God, you believe he died on the cross for your sins, stormed the gates of hell --took the keys and on the third day ascended to heaven to be our Lord and Savior. Then the Holy spirit was sent to guide, teach and comfort us. If that describes your belief of Christianity, then you are.
