hi,
i've been checked for a hernia, , i've had blood work done, and i've had a colonoscopy done, but the doctors cannot find a problem.
i constantly have pelvic discomfort in my left front, below the belt.
the feeling is intensified when i wait too long to defecate or urinate, when i run, or when i lift all day at work. i had spasms a few months ago, which made my bowels push really hard by themselves, this also made the feeling intense for weeks. it is only mildly painful once in a while. any ideas? thank you for taking the time to help! mikeecskii@yahoo.com

OK there Mike, you tell me you have been checked for a hernia. How was this done? Your symptoms are classic for a hernia, and hernias do not need a bulge to be present. Some are difficult to diagnose, I think you need to consult not just a doctor but a hernia specialist. Yes they do exist it takes real training to find some of these. Don"t believe me? Well go to the website for the North Penn Hernia Inst. just outside of Philly. On that website you can go to the blog and ask Dr. Goodyear your questions and he will answer you. He does thousands of hernias each year and is the best. I think you have an occult hernia and that is why your intestines are affected.

Could be alot of things...many of which can go misdiagnosed for years.
Some food for thought.
It could be your gall bladder.
You could have a closed bile duct.
You could have celiac disease.
You could have irritable bowel disease.
I have had the last three at different times.

i know that hip pain often manifests itself in the region you talked about.
the way you describe the pain - it may be neuropathic - often exacerbated by changes in pressure brought on my coughing, sneezing, lifting, changes in posture...

Have them check you for H. Pylori ...bacteria that can cause you problems. (heliocobacter pylori).

There is a breath test for it and a blood test.
