Hello, Newstart:
Let Jesus answer that question:
Jesus says, "If ye love me, keep my commandments. And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever" (John 14:15, 16).
In His prayer for His disciples, He says that He not only prayed for those in His immediate presence, but "for them also which shall believe on me through their word" (John 17:20).
Again He said, "Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I" (John 14:28).
Thus we see that Christ has prayed for His people, and made them abundant promises to ensure success to them as His colaborers.
He said, "Greater works than these {those He did} shall he do; because I go unto my Father" (John 14:12).
Yes, NewStart, We show our love by obedience to our Redeemer, and He imparts properties so we may be a blessing to others--By our fruits, we know we love Him.

Believe what He says!
Psalm 111:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.
Ecclesiastes 12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
Matthew 19:17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
John 15:10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love.
1John 5:2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.

1 John 3:16 This is how we know what love is. Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers. If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him? Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue, but with actions and truth.

What an easy one to answer. THANKS. God tells us this in His Holy Word. There is only one way to show God that we love Him, and that is to truly obey Him in all that we know and desire to study and knowmore, so that we are obeying all He tells us. We cant do that , if we dont Know God or His Word.
If we only believe, thats only lip servicde to God. ANd GOd says He will tell us He never knew us. Even the devil believes. God tells us obedience leads to blessing and disobedience leads to curse. there you go, its all there, read it for yourselves ppl on yahoo and tell the good news to the world.

I think we show God we love him by keeping his commands. This means believing in him, accepting his son Jesus Christ as lord and savior, and trying to reflect Christ in the way we live our lives. This also means learning Gods word the Bible and reading it as often as you can. The way we treat other people also reflects our love for God. "Love your neighbor as yourself".
