I have a Pioneer in-dash cd player with a detachable face.
Is it possible to go out and buy another indash CD detachable face, and just replace the old detachable face with a new one?

Afraid not. Stereos today are made so that if the face is detached, the would be thief would not be able to use it if he stole it. If yours broke, you may be able to send it to the manufacturer to get a new face matched to your old head unit, but no, you can't just go to a store and buy one.

You can purchase a replacement faceplate, but you'll probably have to pay $100 or more to get one from the manufacturer. They can often be found for less on e-Bay.
