It sounds like a strange question... but you got me to thinking. Since I am a genealogy addict, I do have a favorite cemetery, where I had thought about "going". Then I met my husband, who has MS, and who is donating his remains for study, then cremation. Not to mention, it avoids the burden of costly burial. So, now I am tending to donating whatever might be useful and not worrn out.. then go for cremation.
But genealogists LOVE records, and I wouldn't want my descendents wondering what was done with me. So... you can take credit for just now giving me the idea of purchasing something (a bench, maybe?) to be placed at that cemetery, and have some kind of inscription placed there about who I was, and why I loved THAT cemetery in particular.
Thanks for planting the idea!!

Actually, I would like to find some really cold, deep water from which my body would never return and might be useful to other creatures. I also would like a sky burial, however this is not allowed in our country and I might not be able to die in Tibet; so, failing these, cremated, anything else is a waste of time and money.

Neither. I want to donate my body to science. Reason being is that burial and cremation costs WAY too much! And my body can be used for testing, experiments, and the like. That way, they can try and figure out what's wrong with me in the first place. lol
Not to mention, i don't want a tear shed for my departure, nor do i want my family to be out any unnecessary expense.

Being Eastern Orthodox, it's against my religion to be cremated. My husband had his first wife cremated and her ashes are in one of the kid's closets. It creeps me out. I'd much prefer to be in a nice cemetery with a headstone and people paid to keep me pretty in perpetuity....rather than leave it to chance that my ditzy stepdaughter might accidentally tip me over and end up vacuuming me up and tossing me in the trash.

cremated and sprinkled in the ocean--that way everyone can visit me just by going to any shore anywhere because the ocean is so...uh...moving? I don't know. It just seems so poetic and free and beautiful and accessible. It'd make me feel good knowing that my loved ones did that for me after my time here is spent.

i could desire to be buried under a tree so the tree could blossom, it may might desire to be non-non secular as i'm an Atheist. i does no longer techniques being cremated yet we are meant to be scaling down on "greenhouse gases" and that i'm not sure how environmentally friendly cremation is?

Buried.
I hate creamation, even though I am christian and I know the body is worthless after life is over, I still don't want to be a pile of ashes.
I had a friend that was killed in a car accident a few years back and he pretty much burned to death and they ended up creamating him. They did that to my dog too. I guess I don't want to end up like them.
I want my body to look very pretty.
