First you want to start with a full 2" thick center-cut top butt of meat.Use a cast iron skillet, lightly oil your steak, then toss it into your extremely hot skillet. Make sure the edge of your steak touches the side of the pan so you get some cooking action here, too. Cook no longer than 1 minute on each side....remember, you want it BLUE on the inside. If your skillet isn't at least red hot it won't be a Baseball steak

Seriously:
What is a baseball steak? Is it a pure ground sirloin meatball stitched with rump-roast string? Or is it a solid marbled meat sphere scooped out of a side of beef with a special butcher's scoop?

It's neither. It's a sirloin that is "so thick that medium rare is the most we can cook it."

What this has to do with baseball is a mystery. It is large and rounded and becomes a bit more so with grilling. It needs to be grilled on all surfaces to cook properly. Your butcher would have to "make" it, so that you can cook it.

baseball steak is a special cut that is very thick and rounded, like a baseball. You can cook it like you would any thick steak
