A friend of mine was involved in an accident which caused minor injuries. He was bailed after briefly taken into custody. He paid the necessary money for treatment of the injuries. But there is an impending case against him. Does he have to pay more compensation or is there a risk of further punishment like revoking of license?

In India such cases are usually settled in the courts by awarding some monetary compensation given to the victim, unless there were serious injuries or grievous hurt covered under section 338 of the Indian Penal Code involved in the case where some punishment in the form of imprisonment that may extend to 2 years & fine can be awarded. But in case of simple injuries or simple hurt covered under section 337 IPC the court usually award sentence of fine although the provision upto six months imprisonment also exist here but the courts avoid it if the accident & injuries are not so serious in nature & monitory compensation for the victim. In such cases if your friend has paid for the medical treatment of the injured he can get benefit of his such act with a simple warning he can be let off this time if no other previous record of negligent or rash driving exist against him.

There's no set amount - it depends on the injury and the amount of time off of work. The injured party is entitled to money for pain and suffering, payment for a rental car while theirs is in the shop, lost wages, etc.
