As a result, Gordon and Johnson have each been penalized 100 driver championship points. Their respective crew chiefs -- Steve Letarte and Chad Knaus -- have each been fined $100,000, suspended for the next six Nextel Cup Series events until Aug. 15 and placed on probation until Dec. 31, 2007.
In addition, Rick Hendrick, owner of the No. 24, has been penalized 100 car owner championship points as has Gordon, who is the owner of the No. 48.

As you may or may not know, Godon is not a majority owner. This makes a difference when docking points. He was docked 100 points as a driver and the majority owner, Hendricks, was docked 100 points. Anything else would be double doo doo and it would never have stood the appeal process. BUT, by looking at the way his team performed today, I don't see him in much future trouble.

Gordon was docked 100 points as the owner of the 48. Before the penalty the 48 was 3rd in driver and owner points. The penalty is what caused the drop to 5th.

I think he is listed as the car second owner not primary owner. I think Richard Hendrick is the primary owner. If not then that makes Richard The owner of 3 teams not 4 and he would not have had a problem bringing Jr in,ie releasing Kyle Busch. If not then Jeff should have lost 100 owner points as well.

I think he was. That's what they said on pre-show. Besides I believe he is co-owner of the 48

HE DID LOSE OWNER POINTS FOR THE 48 CAR THATS WHY THEY WENT FROM 3 TO 5 IN STANDINGS
