Gatorade is definitely better for you than soda, but it can still be very bad for your health. You really NEED water EVERY day. If all you drink is the Gatorade, you run the risk of throwing your electrolytes out of balance and that may end you up in the hospital. Slow down on the Gatorade. One a day is plenty. Drink way more water - at least 8 eight ounce glasses per day. And since the weather is hot, you should drink a bit more than that. Plus, water doesn't cost anywhere near what the sports drinks do. So not only will you save your health, you'll save money, too!

Water is the purest form of hydration and the best thing for you. Sport drinks are great for replenishing body fluid and minerals that you lose when you exercise and sweat. You're sweat it salty b/c your body is getting rid of potassium (salt) which explains the salty taste. Sport drinks (Gatorade) are loaded with Potassium to replenish that, along with other sugars that your body doesn't need. Sport Drinks alone do nothing for you unless your body has been depleted of something that requires the replenishment of what the sports drinks provide. Gatorade has a ton of salt which makes you want to drink it more and more (you actually get thirstier!) If you are looking for a happy medium (sure plain on old water doesn't give your tastebuds anything to look forward too) try PROPEL (it's enhanced mineral water with a 1/3 of the potassium of gatorade)

You like it because it is MADE to taste better than water, with added glucose (a sugar). Although better than soda, it is not good enough: the human body has evolved through 460,000,000 years to require water. Drink the Gatorade ONLY after exercise, to replenish electrolytes, 2, or 3 times a day, maximum, and water the rest of the time.

If you have been active doing a grueling sport, it is alright to have a sports drink to replenish the body fluids you have burned off. It was designed to be a quick fix for energy until you can have something to eat to replenish your vitamins and minerals. They are very bad for your teeth (worse than soda pop) and can cause you to not eat properly because you are always on a "quick-fix upper".
I personally prefer filtered water for rehydration or water with lemon juice as a thirst quencher. H2O is by far the most recommended drink. It quenches your thirst, is better for you than almost anything else for fluids, and is far less expensive (if you filter it yourself) than any drink available. It is about the only fluid without adverse side affects if it is clean.
Have a small amount of water prior to each alternative liquid you are going to have and you will see the difference in a pretty short period of time. You will drink your other drink slower and begin your "recovery" from artificial fluids.

Most sports drinks like Gatorade are still full of corn syrup and or refined sugar. Not in the least bit healthy. Water is always going to be a much better source of hydration and means of de-toxing. There are many new brands of flavored waters if the taste of water is that offensive to you. There is also vitamin waters available that are flavored

Not good. Sports drinks are really only meant for doing sports. They're loaded with carbs and sugar and calories so gatorade is really nearly the same as soda. Water is very important, drink more!

Sports drinks give you some water, but now enough to survive! I would think you would be dehydrated. Did you know that you are supposed to drink 8 cups of water A DAY? Yeah, I know, I don't even drink that much, but that's what you should aim for. And plus, they put salt/sodium in Gatorade, Propel, and other sports drinks like that just so you will get dehydrated and by more of them. Water is just a better way to go.

No, its not good this sports drinks have calories, lot of sugar and salt, that is not good. Drink one bottle when exercise and add H2O to your day, you can try other drinks with less calories in tha market, like the diet green tea, etc. But in all others drinks don't abuse, you can drink a bottle or 2 of others, but don't completely substitute the water for this drinks, just use them to complement and add variety and liquids to your body, don't abuse.

Its not good to just drink sports drinks, its not safe to do so. In the millitary we sweat alot and if you drink nothing but sport drinks it will replace the nesscary salts and electrolytes the body needs but a large part of sport drinks have alot of sugar which can cause you to dehydrate faster and damage your liver. A safe rule of thumb is for every one sports drink drink 2 things of water same amout or more. But you can over hydrate and can kill you.Think i am lying reamber that women who drank 2 gals of water in the radio host show and died the next day.

Gatorade is good for you, but it contains a lot of sugar. It's better than drinking pop, though. Drinking water is really the best thing to drink.
