RUN AWAY. This person is not capable of a relationship. He is self absorbed, jealous, insecure, and has more than likely cheated on you. Hard to hear, but believe me very true. You deserve better....RUN!!!!

You will be fighting a losing battle if you think you are the solution to his inability to love.
As a retired Counselor, I can tell you it appears your friend has deep problems relating in a loving way. He likely was denied love as a child and simply cannot face it without professional help.
You need to suggest this to him in the strongest terms possible. Do not try to love his problems away or try to "fix" him yourself.

give the guy a chance...let him know how you wish to be treated show him and guide him...my husband was the same way and now we've been together nine years...he is the most wonderful man i know he just needed to be taught how to treat a woman and love her...he was willing to learn and if he is you just might end up with the best man ever!!!

how can he love you if he doesn't know how? I would just let him go until he learned how to love you. I am sure that he knows how to love it is in ones nature to love. He just knows that he can treat you badly and you will let him as you continue making excuses for him. Count your losses now and chalk it up as a lesson learned well..It is not our jobs to sit around and hope that one day maybe they will learn..

its obvious that he loves you and that you love him but if your thinking about leaving then it obvious that the love is fading
but if you truly love him then stick by his side and show him how to love and give a good example-wish you all the luck
-hope it works out

Ask him to go to professional councelling with you. If he refuses, I'd let him go. He's a strange one, and you sound very unhappy. Why give love to someone who can't or won't return it?
