I just wanted to know if a *****'s pregnancy starts them moment she ties with a male and sets everything in motion, or whether you start counting the days down from her last day of heat.
(NO I am not breeding dogs, I just always wondered how people get a specific day count).

Yes, W., but when does that happen? Right after mating with the male, or a couple of days afterwards? Professional breeders, your expertise please?

As a Great Dane Breeder, I start counting from the day the dogs tie and count 63 days from that date. That give me a very good date on when the puppies are born, usually within a couple days

You count from the day of mating. About 63 days.

You count the days as soon as they tie.

It starts when the egg gets fertilized by sperm forming an embryo just like any other pregnancy.
