Isn't fate a depressing thing? I mean, just thinking that my destiny is prewritten....it's so...depressing. Such a morbid thought, to me, anyway.

Who wants to go through life knowing that every step they take is being made because someone more powerful than they denounced it so? Ugh. I'm more of a drifter, so I hate thinking that there's anything confining me.

I believe in fated meetings - how things can be more than just a consequence. And I believe in destiny by prophecy.

I believe that we can break away from whatever fate is trying to bind us to.

I'd like to hear everyone's view on this. ^^ Speak your mind, but please stay a little diplomatic; no rash words, please.

How would you know what your fate is ? If you as you say break away, that is also your fate. Just live and love life .

I don't believe in fate and a prewritten destiny. I believe we walk through life and each choice we make shapes the way our lives move. The lives and actions of others also effect our lives. It's more like looking at a puddle of water when rain falls. Each drop produces a series of ripples that interact with the ripples from other drops. Refering this to man, each "drop" gets to chose the ripples it makes. God uses the ripples to form the pattern that will make the end design He wants. We get to work with Him by following His directions or we get to walk our own way. Either way, the pattern will be worked out to God's satisfaction but the ripples we make are of our own choosing.

God is the all-knower which means he knows everything that happened and that could happen in the future before it happens. So he knows what we will do in the future and it is written down what WE will do in the future. And that is destiny. We can't escape it because all it is is knowing what is actually going to happen before it happens.
