I heard somewhere it was 20 years. What if it were 20 years and one day old, would you still eat it?

According to "Our Generation" on the History Channel from 6/29, the shelf life of a twinkie is really unknown. Supposedly, they've opened twinkies that are older than twenty years old and they were okay.

To answer your question:

Yes, I'd eat it.......with some chocolate syrup.

Somewhere on the box, you should see the expiration date and no, I wouldn't dare eat a Twinkie that was twenty years old!

In reality, Twinkies' shelf life is more like 25 days. I wouldnt eat it after the 26th day.

I had a teacher that nailed a twinkie to the wall on the first day of school and ate it on the last day of school. He was fine and told us the next year that nothing happened. Way too many preservatives to be good for you.

they are supposed to last forever, I don't buy it. No, I would not eat one that is 20 years and 1 day old.

prob like a month.
they are all individally prepackaged and have so many preservatives that Id say def at least a month. It may not taste as fresh if it went more than that...but who really knows how longs its even on the shelf in the store for ????

I wouldn't, but a cockroach would, particularly if it had some moisture left in it.

If you put it in the microwave for 30 seconds, it just might come back.

it lasts FOREVER. Twinkies never ever go bad. They last longer than the plastic they're wrapped in.
