Unless a label specifically states to "refrigerate after opening", I store oil & vanilla extract in the cupboard.

I store my vanilla extract in the cupboard. Has anyone else done this? Have you ever thought that vanilla extract smelled so good, that it must taste just as good? Well, I had to try it. I put a big old spoonful of it in my mouth (I think I was about 7 years old), and I think the strong taste of that was still with me for about a month. Too bad! Something that smells that wonderful should taste that wonderful straight out of the bottle!!!

Keep any extract in the cupboard as long as it is not over the stove or other hot spot. Keep the bottle tightly closed when not in use also.

Most people store theirs in the cupboard. Ours has been there forever right above the stove. It wouldn't hurt it i don't think in the fridge. So what ever you prefer.

CABNIT/CUPOARD
DO NOT PUT IT IN THE FRIDGE OR FREEZER....
The chemicals will react and your vanilla extract will spoil, dissolve, and possibley mutilate
