In Catholicism -- nothing comes before baptism if the person is baptized as an infant. The Church goes on the faith of the parents and Godparents.
After Baptism -- the stain of Original Sin erased; ALL sin erased if the person being baptized is at least at the age of reason (7); salvation -- see 1 Peter 3:21-22
"...and this water symbolizes baptism that now saves you also—not the removal of dirt from the body but the pledge of a good conscience toward God. It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ, 22who has gone into heaven and is at God's right hand—with angels, authorities and powers in submission to him."

Before baptism must come knowledge. Know what you believe in. What the Bible really teaches. Baptism is the public declaration of your faith and commitment to living for God as Jesus taught. After, we must honor our commitment and live our lives according to God's will for us.

This is what Catholics believe.
Although becoming a Christian is a journey (rapid or slow) with several stages, there are always six essential elements:
Before
The Word is proclaimed
The Gospel (together with the needed conversion) is accepted
The faith is professed
The person is baptized
After
The Spirit is given
The believer is admitted to Eucharistic communion
Peace and blessings!

Before one should be saved, that is born again.
Afterwards a pot luck supper! ( Just kidding )
After baptism comes a life of service to Jesus.
I'm not sure what else you are asking.
