is Christ as He said He was? if so, why do you need another testament? isn't the fact that He is in the Bible enough, as it reveals how he fulfilled prophesy? what I am saying is that, if the proof is already in the Bible, what is the point of having MORE proof as given in the Book of Mormon? is the Bible not proof enough for you?

Who is to tell the Lord that He cannot proclaim His word to all nations on earth? He admitted He had "other sheep not of this fold." Do you really believe that the only nation on this earth to hear the word of God were the Jews?

There are many more nations, such as the Ten Lost Tribes of Israel, that probably have their own scriptures of the Gospel too. It just so happens that the peoples that came to the American continent 600 years before Christ brought with them their prophets and their method of recording scripture--on brass and gold plates. Those recordings are what is known as the Book of Mormon.

I firmly believe that more scriptures will come forth before the Second Coming of Christ. Are you prepared to denounce them solely because the Bible and only the Bible fits your perspective of the Gospel of Jesus Christ?

Both the Bible and the Book of Mormon testifies to the divinity and mission of Jesus Christ. Remember the old adage found in the Bible wherein it says, "Out of two or more witnesses shall the word be heard?"

I believe the Book of Mormon is the word of God just as the Bible is. Who am I, or you, for that matter, to question what God may or may not do in His infinite wisdom? I don't question him--I try to follow His commandments.

Yes, we believe the Bible is proof of Christ, but we also believe that the Book of Mormon is a testament of Christ. Why not have more then one account of him? Does this diminish what and who He is? No! To me, it makes Him more. He cares about more then just the people He was with. He cared enough to visit other people on earth. They had to hear what He had to say too.

I think there is even more scripture out there that either hasn't been found yet, or hasn't been translated yet. It will happen before He comes again. Are you willing to accept something else besides just the bible? Why would it hurt to have extra proof of Him?

In a court of law, for a person to be prosecuted or a fact established, two or more witnesses is always more substantive than a single witness. Additional witness in a trial substantiate claims and corroborates the truth.

Mormons believe that the Book of Mormon stands as another witness for Christ, in SUPPORT of the Bible. It is a second witness the Christ lives and is our Savior. There is nothing in the Book of Mormon that does not preach of Christ. Christ is the whole reason for the BofM.

Well, the Book of Mormon serves as a second witness of Jesus Christ to let the world know that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, the Savior of the World, and that only through Him is salvation and eternal life possible. I don't know why Christians around the world do not see how having two witnesses of Jesus Christ solidifies and magnifies their position and testimony of Jesus Christ. What having two witnesses of Jesus Christ means is that, if you think about it, every other religion in the world is lacking the ultimate authority of God, no matter how many other correct or helpful truths and principles may be included. That is not to say that people who belong to any other religion are not considered less educated or less valuable in the eyes of God, but simply that the Gospel of Jesus Christ in its fulness is what every child of God needs to return to the presence of God. Have a happy day, and I send you a gummy bear.

The Bible tells us about Gods dealings with one tribe of Israel. The Book of Mormon tells about Gods dealings with another tribe of Israel. The mere existence of the Book of Mormon shows us that God loves all His children not just one of the 12 tribes. Also, if you READ the Book of Mormon...you will find that your reading of the Bible is enhanced.

Also, we are told that out of the mouth of 2 or more witnesses shall the true be found. The Bible is ONE witness...the Book of Mormon is the SECOND. The Book of Mormon BACKS up the Bible. In fact...the Book of Mormon PROVES the Bible. WHY wouldn't you want that? Why would you NOT want to have as much proof of Jesus Christ as you possible can get your hands on? Why wouldn't you want to know about other peoples dealings with Jesus? That is what I don't get. If anyone truly loves Christ...they would welcome the writings of ANYONE who dealt with Him, ANYONE who learned from Him, Anyone who walked with Him. Why would anyone deny themselves this added perspective to help us KNOW Christ even better than we could with JUST the Bible? Why can't you see the Book of Mormon as a gift from God to His children?

Mormons believe the Bible is the word of god as far as it is correctly translated.

The BOM is a testament of Jesus' visit to the Americas during the 3 days of darkness after the Crucifiction.

Joseph Smith translated inscriptions on gold plates he found in NY State while behind a bedsheet while pressing his face into the bottom of a hat where some magic stones illuminated and translated the inscrptions. His scribes never saw the plates.

I am not a Mormon, so I can tell you that the BOM is not the "most correct book on the face of the earth". This book does not teach what the Mormon church teaches today about the nature of God or salvation.

Well then why do you need the writings of Paul? In both cases a prophet came after and added something, so I see no difference between Paul or Smith. Also, the gospels were added to the OT. It’s common for people to accept what they like and then claim that a certain prophet was the last one. That’s why I don’t like canons & bibles, they are pills to prevent thinking.

In a court of law, it's always best to have at least two credible witnesses to anything.

That's wat te Book of Mormon is, at least in part. Another witness, another testament, of Jesus Christ. One is good, two is better.
