Yeah, I would go with all Imports, If you bought him a nice bottle opener....You should get good beer to go along with it (my opinion)

There are thousands of beers that would work

Lots of the imports and more expensive beers need bottle openers. Like Corona or Heineken.

As a general rule, all American beers are twist off caps. You would have to buy imported beers to need a bottle opener, preferably European. One of my favorites is Stella Artois. This is a Belgian import.

Dos Equis or Sam Adams. Both good beers, nice, not cheap. Dos Equis was my first beer and still one of my favorites, but Sam Adams IS my favorite.

A good Canadian beer like a Labbatts or Molson would be appreciated by any fine beer drinker. Unfortunately the good stuff isn't imported. Can you make a trip to canada?

Corona is always good. Also if they like a darker and little bit stronger beer, you can't beat Heineken

You can still open twist offs with an opener. Ask any bartender.

Anything Sam Adams. Also just about any microbrew.

Corona is definitely a good one, make sure you get some limes as you slice them up and put them in it.
