What are they doing that for. Isnt it supposed to be rice?

1. some places it is against the law to throw rice...they usually want something alternative so that birds can eat it and it doesnt have to be cleaned up.
2. Bran is a grain, a long time ago grains (such as wheat) used to be incorporated into weddings as a symbol of fertility.

Nice fresh baked bran muffins would be better.. but crumbs are ok if you are a hog and eat the bran muffins yourself. c r u m b s . .

Bran is cheeper then rice, and your not worth a shower of rice :)

Bran is far more lucky and practical than rice.... after all, it doubles as your wedding dinner....

Supposedly it's the latest trend in weddings but I think it sucks. What is wrong with bird seed or just nothing?

maybe that person didn't have any rice and i've heard of wierder things being thrown...
