Am I the only person who will help out a person or a freind without wanting something in return like cash? What happened to the nice caring people in the world?

That's my calling in life....to help people out. I think that is why I love this site so much. I don't even know you people but I love helping those that are in need of suggestion or answers.

I believe in what goes around comes around....so if I have friends that help me move, I will do the same in return. I don't always expect those who I help to help me in return...I just love the feeling I get when I do something good.

No you aren't and honestly, I don't know where all these nice people are. There used to be so many. But don't worry, there are still a lot of people who are caring and sweet and help out people because they want to, not because they have to or want something in return. And those people one day will set an example to everyone and change the world. I know it.

Sadly people like you are few and far between. I hope your friends and loved ones treasure such a caring person. And, try not to let other people bother you. continue to be a good person and in the end it'll be returned.

We (wife and I), this evening, just helped a guy and his girl out who had a flat tire.

They had a knuckle buster for a car jack, and I had a hydraulic jack.

In minutes they were on their way.

Years ago, in the dead of night on a US Highway, I helped an elderly couple change a flat. Well, I did it all. He was like 80 yrs old!

When he offered money, I simply told him, "Get her home".

No, of course you're not. Unfortunately, we need more people that are willing to do things without expecting something in return.

no, you're not alone. we're just rare nowadays.
here's a quote i like...it's encouraging:

"People are often unreasonable,
Illogical, and self-centered;
Forgive them anyway.

If you are kind,
People may accuse you of selfish,
Ulterior motives;
Be kind anyway.

If you are successful,
You will win some false friends
And some true enemies;
Succeed anyway.

If you are honest and frank,
People may cheat you;
Be honest and frank anyway.

What you spend years building,
Someone could destroy overnight;
Build anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness,
They may be jealous;
Be happy anyway.

The good you do today,
People will often forget tomorrow;
Do good anyway.

Give the world the best you have,
And it may never be enough;
Give the world the best you’ve got anyway.

You see, in the final analysis,
It is between you and God;
It never was between you and them anyway."

Yah know, I hate takin "rewards" from people too. I guess I just like helpin people. If I have the stuff, I'll share, or the knowledge, I'll help. I have siblings, so I'm use to sharing. Why not share with everybody???

Not true, people are less likely to show their caring side because they think they will get taken advantage of. The somewhat sad truth is if you allow yourself to be taken advantage of, there will always be people out there to take advantage of that.

There is helping, and then there is total usering. Dont get sucked into it.

There is a lot of all about me people in the world, so there isn't much of help thy neighbor anymore. And what a shame.

No your not. It should automatically be something nice because he or she is your friend. Friend's shouldn't expect something in return for you doing something for them. Gosh.
