well if you believe as the majority of Christendom does you believe that the rapture will occur just prior to a "Great Tribulation" of which all believers will be mysteriously taken up and spared the wrath of God upon the earth. This is the view first espoused by John Darby in the 1800's and was a paradigm shift in the eschaton and endtime prophecy. Some say that the accepted view prior to this was a preterist view of prophecy. This is a belief that most or all of the events of prophecy have already occured and that the great tribulation was the destruction of the temple and the slaughter of the jews by the Romans in 70AD. Dispensationalists read into scripture a division of scripture into parts that are relevant to the Jews and another to the church.
The fact that Daniel prophesied the destruction of the temple and 600 years later it occured seems to make Johns prophecy of the same event as being "at hand" (rev 22:10) a problem for dispensationalists who have to change the date of Johns writngs to sometime in the 90's to make it fit their view of endtimes.
It seems quite obvious that Jesus no longer views the Jews as His chosen people but those who have come from every tribe and nation and tongue into a relationship with the risen Christ. There is no place in the Bible that says the temple will be rebuilt and to insist that the old sacrificial system be restored as in prechristian times is ridiculous. Jesus said that the time will come when those who worship God will do so in spirit and truth and not in Jerusalem or a temple made with human hands. The zionists movement that declares a love for the jews in one breath and looks forward to their return to the "Holy Land" so that 2/3rds of them can die in yet another holocaust is absurd and racist against the Christians that were occupying Jerusalem pre-1948.
There will be a rapture for sure but this will be simultaneous with the ressurection at the end of time after the destruction of evil. Read the parable of the tares and the wheat and you will see that evil is first wiped off the face of the earth and not vice versa. But of that hour no one knows.

First off, a pre-tribulation rapture is not in the bible. There is the great "meeting in the sky", but it doesn't mention anywhere, nor is is at all logical, to happen before the tribulation. Not only would there be no one to be getting their heads lopped off, there would be no actual rational point to a pre-trib rapture. Some pastor in the 1800's come up with it, after reading the scripture of Christ telling His disciples He'd be with them until the end. Somehow this pastor translated "being with them" to saving them from it, and considering the disciples all died pretty horrible, grusome deaths, it doesn't fit at all. The great meeting in the sky will happen after the trib, directly before the final wrath, and no one has a clue when that will happen. What we do know is that the trib isn't happening, so we've got a while to wait. According to prophecy, the trib should start during the generation of Israel becoming a nation again, which happened in 1948, and a biblical generation is 70 years, giving us until 2018 for things to heat up. So no, not this year.

If you happen to believe in "the rapture" (I don't) then I think you are supposed to be prepared for it to happen at any minute, and that no one knows when it will happen.
Lots of people thought all kinds of things would happen when new year's 2000 came, and guess what?
So no, I don't think the rapture will happen on 7-7-'07 because nothing happened on 6-6-'66, or 7-7-'77, or 8-8-'88 or 9-9-'99 .........

You mean the new Boeing 777?
Silly. No one knows the time or the hour! Just a lot of people guessing - and, so far, nobody's hit the jackpot. The first guess was the first millennium 1-1-1000, the next time I think they guessed 8-8-88, wrong again - then, of course the second millennium 1-1-2000 wrong again. Now it's 7-7-07 - my best guess is WRONG AGAIN! I'm pretty sure GOD isn't going to tip His hand - He's the only one who knows - but it sure is interesting to see what people speculate, eh?

No.
Excuse my digression into the world of humor.
I think the rapture happened on a Seinfeld episode when Kramer was testing his oil bladder system. LOL.
But to be honest, I do not believe in the doctrine of the rapture. Many people do, and that is their right. I just feel that a doctrine based solely upon one scripture might be a little more than questionable.

The Rapture is coming for sure. You either be Ready, Or you will be left behind. That simple. Jesus even says we will be rewarded for looking forward to His Coming.......I can't wait.
According to the Bible, "all" Prophesies Have been fulfilled, So It Could Be Any Time. I would rather expect His coming, than to Scoff It. Jesus never makes us Sorry for anything. Oh, By the way. The Bible Calls It "caught up together" in case you don't see Rapture. + + +

No, the Bible does not teach a rapture. The Bible teaches that it is the WICKED that will be erased off the earth, and that the righteous will be left over in it.
"For the upright are the ones that will reside in the earth, and the blameless are the ones that will be left over in it. As regards the wicked, they will be cut off from the very earth; and as for the treacherous, they will be torn away from it." -Proverbs 2:21, 22; Psalm 37:9-11, 28, 29

The rapture or catching away, as the Bible puts it, will happen, but no one knows when. However on 07/07/07 there will be a gathering of thousands of ppl in Nashville Tn. put on by The Call (Lou Ingle). It is a HUGE prayer meeting to break off the spirit of Jezebel from the U.S.A.
BE THERE!!!

It is a false interpretation of prophecy, thought up by a Jesuit Priest, Alberto Robeara (don't quote on spelling) and picked up by such protestants as Hal Lindesy and others, to take the heat off the Catholic Church being the Antichrist. All the reformers, being Catholic themselves, pointed to the Church as being Antichrist.
