well. it's hard for animals to fly when you're heavy
and eggs have a protective layer that keeps them safe when the mom bird has to go find food

and i know not all animals that lay eggs fly
but it's part of evolution

Seems to indicate to me that God is using evolution as in monotremes,marsupials and placentals.
