I have to be honest but I feel the same way. What do one do when that happens. The church is for the sick...Jesus said come. But it is like a Sorority. It is a initiation service....a form of godliness but so far from the truth. What was I looking for,I guess I am not the one ready.
We must pray for direction there are Church's ..God knows what we need and he knows are hearts. Start praying for those that do not understand what you need or what you are looking for in the kingdom and God will vindicate you.

There is a lot more greed and drama in the world.
At least at Church you are among friends who care and believe what you believe. I think you should re-consider and find a church that works for you. Don't give up.

I dont think it is a sin but I still think you should look for a church. Try different ones and know that none are perfect but we are made not as islands but to fellowship and help one another and hold eachother accountable. We are able to encourage and learn together, break bread in communion. If you need a break, take a break and read the bible. Acts is a good book so you can see what the 1st Christians did in fellowship with one another.

I think that you need to find a church that doesn't have a payed clergy.
The Church I go to is called the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
This is what I have come to know.
There are sins of commision and sins of omission.
Sins of commision are things that you do, such as drink, have sex before marrage disobey your parents, Ect.
Sin of Omission are things you don't do. Such as help someone in need, not reading your scriptures, not listening to the counsels of God, or not going to church.
But I cannot command you to go to Church, you have your agency, everything is your choice. I can only give you advice and hope you make the right choice.
Al ~ He went to the temple and met "Oft with the elders" of course he went to church but he was the teacher.

Not a sin - just not recommended. Paul tells us "not to forsake the gathering of believers". There are many churches out there that would welcome one who is serious about reading the Bible and praying - one such as you. There's no shame in trying a few on for size - if you have a Salvation Army in your area, try them. That's my church and they are about worshiping God and helping others. It's a real "come as you are" church.
God bless.

What does your religion tell you that you have to do? You could change religion or have none at all. It 's really up to you to decide. If you think it is a sin, then you are going to be limited in everything you do. You need to free yourself from this idea that not going to church is a sin. I really hope you make a decision but not based on guilt. You won't burn in hell if you don't go to church.

No, cause what would we do if stranded on a deserted island? Or etc. But, it can be hard to stand firm in one's faith apart from gathering with other believers.
Bible says do not forsake the gathering together with other believers.
Plus, what bout the encouragement of being surrounded by others that believe the same as you?
Strength.
Unity.
Worship.
Tithing (firstfruits).
Etc.
And if ya need help or assistance and support in life.
Etc.

It is NOT a SIN to stop going to church, however scripture DOES teach that we are NOT to forsake the gathering together with other believers. If you are not happy with your church find another! If you can't, find fellowship somewhere. We need other Christians to share with and connect with.
Heaven will be about all of us together worshipping God Almighty... that will be ALOT more fun then, if you are an "old hat" at it here!!! ;-)

It is not a sin to stop going to a church that teaches lies and is hypocritical. The Bible encourages to "flee" from such religions. However, the Bible shows that true religion would exist in the last days and that it would be organized. I encourage you to look for the truth.

Good plan. You can worship how you want, when you want, as long as you mean it in your heart. It's not a sin.
There's even a bit in the bible about it: "For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them."
So there you have it. Proof that you don't have to go to church to worship God.
