Begin facetious answer:

No. The US has modified the immigration law and now requires all terrorists illegally crossing the border to wear the bright orange vests that are used by highway workers. In addition, they are required to have the word "terrorist" in block letters on the front and back of the vest. This will reassure the citizens of the United States that the goverment is working hard to stop illegal immigration and has taken strong action to identify and apprehend any terrorist who tries to sneek across our highly secure border. This is another example of your tax dollars at work and a shining example of how efficient and effective your government is at providing you security and protecting your liberty.

End facetious answer.

Truthfully, all the people who answered yes, it is as easy for a terrorist to enter as it is an illegal alien are correct.

Sure, a terrorist could cross the border unnoticed. Which border are you talking about though, Mexico or Canada? Which border does a terrorist have the best chance of making it across? How many of the 9-11 terrorists were border hoppers? None right? They came here legally. Can a terrorist carry a WMD across the border like a bottle of water? How much does the average WMD weigh? Is there such thing as portable WMD's? Why would a terrorist try to enter through the Mexican border and risk being caught by the ever vigilant minutemen and their border patrol and Natl. Guard buddies? Who is paying attention to the Canada side? Are we not just as vulnerable there? The last couple of terrorists that crossed the border on the Mexican side did so when they were babies. "But if they werent here in the first place..." I Know. And if they were never born in the first place we wouldnt have this problem right.

Yes, there are many ways that a person could sneak across any of our borders if they were intent on doing so.

All of our borders are pourous and it seems no one really seems to care outside of the citizens on the borders who deal with the cost of those illegal entrants who are not trying to blend in and make an 'honest' living.

Having a border fence between the US and Mexico would not stop all but would certainly put a dent in the numbers that flow across every day.

Allowing the border patrol to do their job would be another good move and holding people accountable when they shoot at our patrol guards and citizens would be a good move as well.

As to who is to blame? Certainly the person who causes the carnage, what ever the form.

And don't be fooled, a suitcase is the perfect cover for any number of chemical or biological weapons that could convievably wipe out hundreds and thousands of people.

Welcome to the reality that the rest of the world has been living with. There are evil people out there who want nothing more than to kill you and me simply because.

Yes they can enter crossing the border, If there is a attack it's the Governments fault as also all of ours for letting this immigration mess get this far so. Keep calling & e/mail your Sen=& Gov on closing the borders & enforcing the laws

Yes i live on the border and 2-300 a day come by my house and i would say maybe 50-100 are caught and if we are hit from across the border the blame lays on Congress and GWB

The system we are using right now is to track all wmd through intelligence. So the blame would lie with the intelligence community. A backup system to learn who is coming here would reduce the chance of error. But there are too many politicians who want to use this system for political advantage that it is not going to happen soon.

Of course -- and this is nothing new. Consider "The Fifth Horseman," the novel by Larry Collins and Dominique Lapierre. The book was published in the mid-'70s, and even at that time, a "suitcase nuke" was conceivable.

Given that we now have about 20 million illegal aliens in our country (and that many have criminal records, as well as those who are currently incarcerated), I think the law of averages would rule that at least some of them could/would have no problem fulfilling a deadly scenario.

Metro you got in "un noticed" did you not?

Metro for the past few weeks you have executed the most vibrant display on this issue that you could muster. Now with this piece of information I understand your thinking. By not being a citizen of this country you are not afforded the exclusive right, privilege nor luxury to even be a participant in this process. Not once did you ever think of how a bill of this nature could affect this entire country and every one of her citizens. Your thought in this matter concerned you and only you. You claim to "love" and "appreciate" this country. Yet your thoughts, words and actions speak differently. Here, a country who has provided you with the wonderful life you lead and your thought of repayment and respect is, "To heck with what this bill could do to this country as long as I get MY legal status". You should be absolutely ashamed of yourself. If you are not, don't worry Metro, this country and her citizens will once again take up your slack and be ashamed for you.

Yes a terrorist can easily cross our borders with a bomb, with the intent of killing innocent ppl. A damn good reason to secure the borders and enforce immigration laws don't you think?

I think a weapon of mass destruction in Mexico could still kill a couple of million people in say, San Diego. So, fences are not really the answer, are they? Maybe the world really is getting too small to for the US to go on trying to enforce our beliefs on other nations and cultures... Nah!
