That the SDA church has its own Bible.
The "ignorance of some so called experts" amuses me, I mainly use the KJV but also the NIV, NKJV and several others on occasion.
Please let me know which one is the official SDA Bible, it must have been an oversight on my part.

We have the same Bible as everyone else, but we do worship on Sabbath according to the 4th commandment, not to be saved, for we are saved by grace alone, but out of love for our creator.
I think some have SDA's confused with LDS church.

The Clear Word, originally published in March 1994 as the Clear Word Bible, is an English paraphrased version and Bible commentary. It was written as a personal devotional exercise by Dr Jack Blanco, former professor at Southern Adventist University, to be an additional study tool and devotional alongside the Bible. The paraphrase was initially published by the Southern College Press of Southern Adventist University; it is now being published by the Review and Herald Publishing Association, which is owned and operated by the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

The JWs and Mormons have their own Bible.

I was not aware SDAs did.

However some SDAs put the writings of Ellen G. White on par with the Bible.

I believe the person you were talking to was thinking of the Jehovah's witnesses, who have a separate Bible translation to deal with the divinity (or in their case, non-divinity) of Christ. It is a common misconception in evangelical circles that SDA's hold similar beliefs. It is only proof that even us pastor types are not perfect, thank God!!!

I am sad he mixed up SDA for LDS. I confess I do not know much about your branch of faith, but I did not think you had a different text. What do you believe?

LOL... I'm sorry, but I have to laugh! I know exactly what you are saying!!!

Visit these sites... and READ all the pages there...
http://www.geocities.com/amkch1
http://www.bibletruths.com

and you may find some help in understanding there!

So many pastors are "towing the party line" instead of teaching the TRUTH...

PRAYERFULLY Stick with the KJV even with all it's errors... until you can get a better understanding.

lol lol lol

Founder of the SDA Ellen G. White

First off, her writings are not consistent. We will give only one example, due to limited space. We will briefly outline her "visions" on the "Shut Door" doctrine. This was the teaching that the door to salvation was closed by the Bridegroom (Jesus Christ) based on the parable of Matthew 25:1-13 on October 22, 1844. Early Adventists including Ellen G. White believed they were inside and all others were shut out and cut off. They saw themselves as the "wise virgins" (safely inside with Christ) and all the others as "foolish virgins" (left outside the shut door.)

When Christ did not come for his "wise virgins" on the prophesied date of 1844, Ellen G. White attempted to cover over her support of this false prophecy by the following statement in Selected Messages, Volume 1, page 63,

"For a time after the disappointment in 1844, I did hold, in common with the advent body that the door of mercy was then forever closed to the world. This position was taken before my first vision was given me. It was the light given me of God that corrected our error, and enabled us to see the true position."

1John 4:1 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world.

the test of a false prophet is the failure of their prophecy

I'm not sure what SDA stands for, but I think you're right to protest. Keep reading the versions you have been reading...they're safe.

Yes, the Seventh Day Adventists do have their own "bible".
But it is not THE Holy Bible of God Almighty & Jesus Christ.
Therein lies the difference.

Should be the Bible if they're Christians.
