You're just going to a place where a lot of dead people happen to be. It's not really that exciting. However, I work with a group that finds, catalogs, and occasionally restores old cemeteries, and I can say that you need to be respectful while visiting a cemetery. Do not litter the grounds. Do not sit or climb on the stones. Act like a respectful human being. Above all, don't do anything that remotely smacks of vandalism. Of course, you wouldn't do anything like that, but some people do, and they tend to get found and prosecuted fairly easily. The kinds of people who do that sort of thing are usually also dumb enough to brag about it to everyone.

You could take a digital camera and snap random snapshots. Any restless spirits might show up as little dots that look like light or water in the photo. This sometimes works with 35mm or infrared cameras too.

Look up "Urban Legends" on the net. Chances are, there really are places near you that are known for spoooooky happenings! Good luck! (make sure you have fresh flashlight batteries!)
