The first three commandments are eternal, yet christians seem to think it's perfectly okay to break each of them. They don't even think ONCE about it.
Some say that Jesus is a part of God, so they are not breaking the commandments because in worshiping Jesus, they are worshiping God. This is a mistake, as Isaiah 44:6 clearly points out.
– So said the L-rd, the King of Israel and his Redeemer the L-rd of Hosts, "I am first and I am last, and besides Me there is no G-d.
The declaration by G-d, "… I am the first …", indicates that He has no father. When He said, "… I am the last …", it means that He has no begotten son. Finally, when G-d proclaimed, "… besides me there is no G-d …", it shows that He does not share His role with any other god or entity – He has no "partners".
This comes from the original Hebrew text, not the reworked Gentile messiah propaganda, so it is not a matter of mistranslation.
So, knowing this, how do you reconcile your faith against the original?

Hey, don't take my word for it, ask a Jew. Christianity is all messed up, they would have you believe that there is no other way to the Father besides throught Jesus. According to Judaism, more than one "path to G-d" exists, perhaps with the Jewish path being the most difficult. Accordingly, all righteous people, Jew and Gentile alike, have a place in the world to come. The Covenant of the Rainbow, which G-d made with Noah and his descendants (Gen 9:1-17) affirms this, and the righteousness of Noah is acknowledged in the Hebrew Bible:
Genesis 6:9
- These are the generations of Noah, Noah was a righteous man he was
perfect in his generations; Noah walked with G-d.

You may want to educate yourself about why Jews know better than to follow christianity.

Jillian, I am aware that I'm only bound by the 7 Noahide laws, and acknowledge fully that I am a Gentile by the standards of the Judaic faith. That is not the argument. What I'm saying is that Jesus is NOT who christians think he was. According the Judaism, he simply didn't meet the requirements to be the mashi'ah. Therefore, those who say he is are clearly wrong. Why would god say that the mashi'ah would be one thing, and then do something completely different? God is not a liar, so God would not do this. Man did this all on his own. Claiming God had anything to do with christianity is a gross disrespect to your religion.

Tim, the Tanakh and the OT are not the same. I recommend getting a copy of the Jewish Bible and doing your own comparison. Or, you can be lazy and check out the links I have attached.

Christianity is a Greek tragedy populated by characters taken out of Hebrew texts. Their idea of anything sacred is very far removed from Judaism's.

Impossible to answer in this short of space, but I will give it a quick answer at least. First, read Genesis 1,...God clearly states let US make man....the assumption would be that there is more than one "person" involved. Also, the idea of the trinity comes into play, in which the three persons of the trinity, father, son and holy spirit, are seperate yet the same. A very bad analogy is the egg....it has shell, white and yolk. The shell cannot say that yolk and white is not as egg as it is. Yet you can separate each into a different form and purpose. The problem with your question is that you are saying that God and Jesus are not one in the same, and Jesus claimed to be God. Not "A" god, but "THE" God. In John 8:58 Jesus makes the claim "before Abraham was born, I AM." In using this term, the only name that God ever called himself, (to Moses in Exodus 3:14, also in the original Hebrew) He is not just using bad english there, he is unequivically claiming to be God, and the Jewish people know it. They try to stone him, which if you know anything about the Jewish law, blasphemy and adultery are the reasons for doing so. (and they hadn't just caught him in adultery, so you do the math) To use Isaiah 44 to say that God and Jesus are not the same is to assume that God is a singular entity. This is a logic jump that is predicated on what we know of the natural order of creation. Were you defining any other being than the God of the universe it would be a logical step. However, to put God's created order upon God himself is the same as saying that Rembrandt only existed in paintings because he was a painter. God MADE the natural order, exists outside of it, and is not bound by it's rules unless He Himself so chooses to be so bound. (as is the case in the man of Jesus Christ) I know that a lot of us Christians don't keep some of the other laws either, and that is a truth that is to our shame, but in worshipping and following my Lord Jesus Christ, I do not have to rework the orignal text to fall in line with my messianic "propoganda" as you have put it. To understand it fully, one would have to understand the complete nature of God, which is not going to happen anytime soon, so I suppose this attempt at an answer will have to do. I'd love to discuss it at any time.....

Because Jesus (actually it was Paul) changed the rules. Judaism is our game, Christianity is your game.
Those 613 commandments you read in the "Old" Testament were never intended for anyone but Jews. Non-Jews are bound by only the seven Noahide laws.
Does it surprise you that Jews have so many more obligations than non-Jews? Does it surprise you that Paul was converting non-Jews because he couldn't find any males willing to be circumcised.

Christians think Jesus came along and as God, he released them from all the commandments of the "Old Testament."
It would be like your parent giving you a book of rules and insisted you follow them, but then later he up and says, "Hay, you know that book of rules I gave you? Well just forget it, you do not have to follow it."
Christians think either God changed his mind or that he made a mistake. No wonder they are so confused. No wonder they got so many denominations all insisting "theirs" is the right one.

We all fall short from the glory of God. Christians do not think that it is perfectly OK to break the ten commandments. Where did you get that baloney?
However, we are not saved by the law. We all are under the new covenant. Under grace. We need to keep the law, but Jesus saves us by His grace. You can try to make it by law, but then you need to keep it perfectly. I am wise enough to realize that I need Savior.

Yes. There is only One God, the same for all. However, each individual and each religion has its own conception or misconception of Who and What God is. The Jews’ beliefs are not the Christians’. Neither are the teachings of the churches or the average Christian’s beliefs necessarily the same as those that Christ himself taught.
Everyone must choose and decide for himself which teachings he should follow.
Jesus upgrades the Old Testament teachings
In most all cases when asked as to their specific objections to religion, critics and non-believers cite false, obsolete and superseded teachings found in the Holy Scriptures of all the religions. They fail to realize that all instruction, specially divine instruction, is progressive -- beginning from the simple basic and graduating to the more complex and advanced.
So did Jesus refute most all of the objectionable Old Testament teachings. Just to mention a few to give everyone a clearer idea, but there are many:
1. In place of the tribal god Jehovah, the angry and jealous god of the Hebrews, Jesus revealed the One God of love, justice and mercy Who loves all His children, assuring us that there is a valid spiritual reason for everything that happens to everyone.
2. Instead of separation, isolation and the elimination of all enemies, inferior races and rival tribes, he taught that all men are brothers. We should all learn to love one another and live in harmony.
2. An eye for eye was replaced by Forgive, Turn your other cheek and Love your enemies. This while assuring everyone that God's exacting divine justice will be meted out to everyone.
3. Animal and human sacrifices are discouraged in favor of the living practice of love, mercy, kindness and service to our fellowmen. Even though this is still widely believed and taught by his misguided followers, Jesus should not be regarded as a human sacrifice who died as a ransom for our sins. Instead, everyone of us will have to live as he lived, following his example as best we can.
4. He simplified the 10 Commandments and converted them into just 2 -- Love God and love your neighbor as yourself, affording us more leeway in recognition of our higher stage of development from that of the ancient Hebrews.
5. Many of the over 600 Mosaic Laws were revealed as worthless and useless traditions that even ran contrary to the true laws of God. The prohibitions against eating non-kosher foods and the detailed procedures for washing pots, pans, and other worldly rules and practices, etc. -- all man-made laws. God's laws relate to Spirit and are not so much concerned with material and physical considerations.
6. He clarified the many integral parts of love. Do not judge or criticize. Forgive. We should mind our own business -- the speck in our brother's eye -- and not interfere with someone else's. Practice tolerance and non-violence. Serve rather than seek to be served -- the greatest of all is the servant of all. Do unto others as you would want others to do unto you.
7. He also provided us with clearer insights regarding the things of heaven and the goings on there. He enjoins us to study and prepare for the True Life that comes after earth life. Our fate depends on us, entirely -- what we think and do. And our enjoyment of everything in life is based on merit.
8. Before he left us, he told us that God would send the Holy Spirits in his name to guide us to "all truth." He promised that he will return, reincarnate, to teach us more, those that he wasn't able to tell us before, even the mysteries kept hidden since the foundation of the world. He will speak no longer in parables, but he will teach us plainly. And to those who have kept faith with him, his promises are being fulfilled even now.
