Would a non-driver license do? I'm an American citizen, but I rarely travel so I wonder if I need additional IDs with all the security checks these days.

A picture ID of some sort with a credit card for secondary. A drivers license is ideal. You won't have any problems. Have fun.

Nope. A driver or non-driver's license is sufficient.
